Missed where I said that he's a worthy Brownlow winner and the stats back it up?

I was yawning at your offended

Oh so you gave an opinion? Notice how I didn't bag you out? I gave mine. I'm not offended. I'm staggered and expressing it.

I'm not sure a discussion forum is for you.

Very funny result, Pridda did what the federal court couldn't and put a massive hole in the bigfooty server.

Realistically he's not anywhere near the best player in the comp, but he's not a flukey winner either, the woewodin comparison is unfair- because of the position Priddis plays and how consistent he is, he's been thereabouts for 4 or 5 years, sooner or later there was some chance he would get lucky.

Look, I want to start my post off saying Priddis is a worthy winner, however unlikely, and will not be remembered in years to come as a Wowoedin.

BUT

I do think he 'Bradbury''d this year. Ablett was the clear winner til his injury, and up until Fyfe whacked Lewis, he was also a deserving winner (bar shit MRP rules). Buddy also has more claim to the Brownlow.

And secondly, I think Fyfe still should have got most votes. The last round was Fyfe 25 Priddis 24, with Kennedy (8 goals), LeCras (20 disposals, 4 goals), Shuey (27 disposals, 9 clearances, 1 goal) were all better. Not that it matters as Priddis wins anyway, but it bothered me. Priddis was not 2nd BOG in that game. If I was being nitpicky, I would give him 2 v Pies, but even then he still gets 23 (ahead of Gaz) and so winner winner chicken dinner.

Humble, genuine man too. Good on him. I swear I can remember talks that Priddis used to say to WC basically that as long as they were fair and good to him, he'd stay - that's worth a lot in my books. Not driving up his price by getting rumours talked about leaving etc.

Your on a roll man at least your post count is going up ;)

Well done Pridda. No one can take away you work ethic or determination. A win for all blue colour folk out there!

For everyone on this thread that has suddenly decided that Priddis is a worthy winner of being the best player in 2014 just because he acted humble and gave a good speech, I ask this question:

Would any of you right this very second agree to replace your best midfielder with Priddis? Would any of you agree to replace your second best midfielder with Priddis? Third?

If any of you answer no to the above questions, then just take a second to appreciate that the supposedly best player in 2014 is not even worthy of being traded into your team. HA.
Would be carlton's best and most consistent midfielder. Don't kid yourself if he was victorian and wasn't such a fair and quiet achiever he would have been getting praise for years.

Well done Priddis. Deserving winner in the end. Maybe your own supporters will show a bit more respect now. :thumbsu:

Very nitpicky, Priddis laid 7 tackles, the most on the ground, and got recognition for that grunt work of causing opposition turnovers.

Most disposals, one of the most consistent players and not many in the team to take votes off him. Was always a good chance. Cant believe they weren't talking him up at the start of the night.

To be fair, he was in the top several contenders going into the night, and a Dangerfield win in 2014 would have been more of an indictment. Priddis was always going to be thereabouts, even if his actually winning was hard to fathom. Additionally, Priddis has certainly had a better overall career output than a Woewodin and even arguably a Cooney. He has averaged something like 26 disposals a game across his career. He'll ultimately retire with one of the more solid careers, front-to-back. I think he cracked 100 career Brownlow votes tonight (in what is really 8 seasons), which is also kind of impressive.

You also just know he won't abuse it. There are some hacks out there that would parade their Brownlow win around and live off it to the end of their days. Priddis will just feel enormously blessed, a little embarrassed, and put it behind him.

Additionally, for a stats-crazed league, it's really the winner they deserve.

why is everybody going on about his stats libba manges to get 1st in clerances and tackles and actually has a decent disposal efficiency. West coast midfield isso shit no wonder he would stand out
