Congratulations to Hawthorn

Wow, what a poor thread! Not too much congratulations of Hawthorn, just 90% bagging of Fremantle. The one thing I've really learnt this week is the huge gulf in class between most Hawks supporters and Eagles supporters. Saturday afternoon my Facebook lit up with jubilant Eagles supporters (not Hawks) gloating as if they had won another flag ...... I had to remind myself they finished 13th. Hawks fans very gracious in victory, West Coast fans quite the opposite. We were beaten by a better team who played with much more skill and especially poise during the GF. I congratulate Hawthorn Football Club and their supporters on the win.

I seem to remember nearly the entire Freo supporter base cheering on the Swans in '05 and celebrating like there was no tomorrow when we lost.

The annoyance I have is that whenever one tries to have a debate involving both our teams supporters my perception is that many of your posters as soon as they appear to not have a sensible answer they pull the 3 Premiership safety switch.
Look, we all know you have won 3 cups and credit to you but can we not have a robust debate without the necessity to repeat what the whole world already knows.

Pretty sure that if you did a search of this thread, the phrase "3 cups" would have been posted more by you than anyone else.

Hawthorn were deserved premiers this year - best team all year and best team on the day.

Freo were deserved grand finalists - earnt the double chance during the season, earnt a home prelim by beating Geelong on their home turf, earnt a grand final berth by beating the reigning premiers, but then failed to take their chances on the big day and largely were beaten at their own game. They'll be better for the experience.

Thanks guys for all the congrats. For me personally, the win was made even greater due to the constant and never f..king ending media crap about the purple haze, pressure, suffocation........and the biggest wank word of the year- manic. I can not believe these media muppets get paid for the garbage they constantly spruik, embarrassing stuff.
