Just one other thing - how much respect is there between the two teams?

Was fantastic to see most players helping each other up (Sewell and Hodge v most, Chapman on Sewell, Hodge on Ottens, Ottens on Skipper) after tackles/packs/etc - not something you see all that often.

Yeh... its really good to see!

Apart from Lewis screaming like a tool at Enright after kicking a goal, bit classless for me.

Hawks were fantastic and we were very lucky they were inaccurate otherwise they would have been deserved winners.

Cats v Hawks always produces such tense close games of footy.

Hope we meet again in September :thumbsu:

Echoing that. Amazing game, with nothing seperating the two teams for most of the day. We really kicked ourselves out of it in the third, but a cracking game, possibly one of the best of the year so far.

See you in September! (don't forget, if you win in H&A, you lose in GF! ;)

Doesn't quite work like that. It's the loser of the last encounter usually wins in the grand final, so if we manage to play in a qualifying final and you eke out a win... :p

I don't know if it was because both lots of players were absolutely buggered or due to a great deal of respect between the two sides or a combination of both, but the players did seem to mill around for quite a while after the final siren.

The greatest thrill I took out of today's game was that this loss to the Hawks might be enough to keep them from snatching a top 4 position and being a real threat to the premiership. Even though we have beaten them the past 4 times, they always win the real important games and the next real important game could be Finals time.

Agree, thought that was a bit not in the spirit of the game. Mind you, it seemed to get under Enright's skin, and he gave Taz a beauty in an attempted spoil in the third. Anyone see that?

I would like to see that kind of thing more often. But so many people see it as being soft and that you shouldn't show respect and decency whilst the game is still going.

Bullshit to that I say. If the ball isn't in play then it shouldn't be an issue.

That's how I've always played sport. Of course I have never played at anywhere near the elite level, but why should that matter?

Yeh, saw that - he might get pinned for that at the MRP, possibly, but who knows these days!

And he definitely got under Enright's skin, lol and mine.

Well done to Hawks fans in this thread. Can't wait for our next game even if it will probably be another heart stopper.

Yesterday was the first time I been to the footy since I was 14 and we played the Bombers and Ablett snr kicked 14(I think) and Salmon kicked 10 and we lost... Glad I went and got to finally see this slick Cats side playing in the flesh!! Also I loved seeing Buddy as well.. I sh*t myself everytime he went near the ball. Well done Cats and Well done Hawks!

You can tell that there is a huge respect between the 2 sides, has been for a few years now. Stuff like that during the game, and the interaction after the siren is pretty cool to see.
