Re: Walker Now!!!

bloody hell that was a frustrating game to watch. However Goody did allright.

But what have we got to lose by playing Walker? We got quite a few players that are useless at the moment. Jericho was useless, campbell is useless, stevens did ok. The only exception is macca coming back from knee surgery. So i don't understand if craigy dosen't pick walker for next week.

That's my argument.

It's not a massive gamble with Walker; at worst, we bring him in and he does nothing - which would make him comparable to half of our forwardline anyway.

Re: Walker Now!!!

Looking at our team today we have a total of one natural forward, that being Tippett.

Time for Walker and Hentschel (if fit)!!!!!

Unfortunately with Hentschell out still that's not going to happen very soon :(

Re: Walker Now!!!

YOUR DREAMING MY FELLOW CROW FANS we wont see Tex Walker and Dangerfield, nor Hentschel this year. Someone will make way for the Porpoise when he is fit again. But I think instead of blaming the forwards, there are two reasons why we cant score.

1. Our midfield doesn't deliver the ball inside 50 effectively,

2. Movement in the inside 50 needs to be restructured.

Personally I think it's season over now. It was over a month ago actually. This season has Geelong written all over it, why even bother NOW, it's time to blood the youngsters for the future.

Think you right .......question is whether Craig will now start getting some games into Otten, Mackay and Moran

Re: Walker Now!!!

as a member I am sick of hearing that a player has not been picked because of what he does not do without the ball

I ask, is this why we are such a defensive playing club, what about picking players that can do something positive with the ball

FFS NC I do not care if he Walker needs to learn few more defensive points to his game, I care that he is a natural forward and has the ability to kick goals

lets also remember, was Hart and Rehn fully ready when they first got selected, the answer is NO, they were skinny kids, nuit throwing them in made them the champions they were as players

FFS Neil, lead by example and take some RISKS ar selection and maybe the players will too on game day

Haha, too true

At the very least Craigy should play him against say Richmond or Carlton where he will have a better oppurtunity to prove himself and our deliveries will be better then the past 5 weeks.

Couldn't have said it better myself. In the words of some Sydneysiders today. Amen brother. :thumbsu:

Re: Walker Now!!!

Craigy in his press conference he has just about ruled out Walker for next week.

It has now going to become a matter of principle where he doesn't want to be seen caving into supporters demands. Pathetic.

Re: Walker Now!!!

Jericho >>>> Walker. Clearly. Our selection panel said so.

FFS We need to stop being so conservative. If we don't find some sort of structure and fast we'll finish on 8-14. You don't win games scoring under 80 points every week.

Hentschel + Walker + Tippett = Goals

Delete Jericho asap plz

Re: Walker Now!!!

My fellow forumites, you are failing to look at it from Neil's perspective. We can still make it if we win the reamining games.

The question why do we want to get some game time into the youngsters who are performing well when we can try and keep our finals record intact ?

NC, I think you have to come to the realisation if we do make the 8 which with the way we are playing is very remote and even if we do we will not go far. Its time to give the youngsters who are performing in the SANFL an opportunity.

Re: Walker Now!!!

yay! I agree 100% This club needs to be extra conservative right now. Who needs youth when we can keep putting in sub par performances from gutless muppets.

PLAY TAYLOR ****ING WALKER NEIL CRAIG! HE'S THE MOST NATURAL ****ING FORWARD WE'VE HAD SINCE TONY MODRA. **** YOUR CONSERVATIVE METHODS AND **** YOUR SELECTION POLICIES.

Re: Walker Now!!!

As other have said, Neil Craig all but ruled out Walker for next week during his press conference and reading between the lines it sounded like it will not happen anytime this year. So what I would like to know is; what is the difference between round 22 in August this year and round 1 in March 2009?

If he is not ready to play now or anytime over the next 6 to 8 weeks how will this change over the summer? He will only add 3 to 5 kgs to his frame so physically he will not change that much and his skill development won’t improve that much because he is not playing any games, so by the sounds of it, I doubt we may not even see him until sometime in 2010.

I am not joking or looking for a reaction from anyone but if he’s not ready now, how will it change in 6 months time.

Re: Walker Now!!!

Yep the usual thing in the press conference

- Things he needs to work on
- Its not just about the goals, it is how they come about
- If we expose an 18 yo to AFL too early it could set him back in his development.

Clearly the way for Walker to earn selection is to stink it up for a while.

Re: Walker Now!!!

I don't care about his **** age NC. Who the **** cares. If Walker was 25 he'd be a shoe in. But no just cause of his ****** age. He is outperforming every other crow in the SANFL, Mcgregor does donuts and gets listed as an emergency. We'll finish 8th and get smacked.

You're forgetting though, Taylor isn't performing at SANFL level unlike players like Jericho.......um wait.....

Well, at least Luke is hard at the man in the forwardline and puts immense defensive pressure on unlike Tayls..... errr.....

Well, everytime Luke gets a chance he tears the opposition apart at AFL level...... uhhh

WTF isn't this kid getting a go? SERIOUSLY!

Re: Walker Now!!!

Begin to fear when the cliches come, the evil spirit of Gary Ayers is upon us.

We are all doomed, Neil Craig is tainted by the stench of Gary Ayers cliches, the wretched presence of excuses and cop outs has befallen the Adelaide Crows, the time may be near when we must roll with the punches.

So sayeth the Lord of Speaking about yourself in the third person.

Re: Walker Now!!!

Im starting to get pretty fed up with Neil Craig.

Why because you and others are a better coach than he ......that you know the players capabilities and state of mind better than he?

FFS Walker has just turned 18 and is gaining enormous experience and confidence in his first year ........

It's not about this year!

Craig knows him better than you!

I'll trust the clubs judgement
