Might be a few more brain cells looking to disappear from my head...

Careful, I doubt you can afford to lose too many more. The ones you do have are probably pretty lonely as it is

Off topic, but has anyone had WCE app issues on Android. I've had to get printable tickets on email for this week.

Samsung Z Flip 5, app shows no ticket allocation. Any suggestions are welcome 🙏

From Keys elite OP.

“Based on Hunt, Petruccelle, Rawlinson and Jamieson being delisted, Allen leaving as a FA and Barnett moved to the rookie list we have 39 still on the list made up of 32 players on the main list, 5 rookies and 2 Cat B rookies

Only leaves room for 5 new players so there’d need to be extra spots opened up via trades out, further delistings or additional list spots as part of the assistance package”

This already factored in the Bazzo/Chesser/Cole/Cripps cohort staying.
Barnett on the rookie list seems fanciful to me IMO.

I see delist food

Really?

Quite the opposite, actually.

Happy with the Jobe signing but would've liked 3 years.
Allan I would've waited for since he's still contracted for another 2 seasons, is a hometown lad and didn't do much this year.
Bazzo is a stock standard extension to keep him around another year.

So...

I think a line can go through -

Sheed
McGovern
Pettrucele
Hunt
Jamieson
Allen

Potentially Departing (Trade or Delist - or obviously retain) -
I know some are contracted but I think we'll have the space to pay out if required

Cripps (Pains me but I would nudge now, given they aren't going to cut Owies with 2 years left)
Cole (I would retain- 1 year)
Ryan (I would trade if he wants out but target experience in return)
Rawlinson (Delist for me)
Barnett (Delist for me)
Livingstone (Delist for me)
Johnston (Probably delist but he's right on the line)
Champion (Retain for another year - maybe 2 if they see something longer term)
Newton (Honestly havent seen enough to judge but the fact that he is getting at least another run bodes well for his chances of getting a year)

So by my numbers that is..

6 definitely off the main list with a personal preference that a further 4 main list depart the club (Ryan, Cripps, Barnett, Johnston).
+
2 Off the rookie list (my preference, Rawlinson and Livingstone)

That would be 12 departing in total.

That's a decent shuffle given a 1 win season but it still feels like it doesn't have a massive impact...until you realise how much experience departs if Sheed, Gov, Allen, Ryan and Cripps all go. Ooft.

At the other end of the scale, are Barnett, Rawlinson, Livingstone or Johnston really viable AFL prospects? I don't see any of them making it sadly - we can't just 'hang around' for another year now - some brutal calls are probably needed.

If you could combine Livingstons workrate & effort with Barnetts talent you’d have a more than decent player.

It’s clearly between the ears with Barnett, talent is there as shown on the weekend with his 3 goal last quarter nearly getting the beagles a win. He just can’t but it all together.

Rawlinson & Livingston are gone. Johnston is only in his second year so I think he’s safe for now.

Was mentioned Duggan and Cole are going around again, no surprise really.
I wonder if another full preseason learning the game style will somehow improve their skills and decision making?

No...just no it won't.

The time for skill improvement was 5 years old for those 2 and they missed it.

Think Livingstone would be unlucky to be delisted for the same reason as Johnstone.

Double everything? In what sense?
*Rowell had one of, if not the best seasons ever as a top age junior so it's hard to measure up. So if anyone is taking a 1D inside mid then its a very easy comparison about how they will go at AFL.

Sharp gets 20 disposals - Rowell gets 40.
Sharp gets 4 tackles - Rowell gets 8
Sharp kicks 1 goal - Rowell kicks 2

Also as a junior Rowell had a great ability to push off opponents and create space for himself around the contest and to steady. Sharp doesn't really do that despite being "a big body" & tends to get more footy uncontested.

Or it means that the draft class is crap? He can only do so much and look so good relative to his peers. I don’t deny that he wouldn’t go number 1 in any of the last few years, hell he wouldn’t even go 1 if Annable was available, but he’s not, and he’s in this draft class. I don’t know what more you want him to do?
Even with the quality changing year on year he's just not top 10 quality in my eyes. (Though he might squeeze into the top 10 this year🤷) Also keeping in mind the draft isn't a list of best -> worst as "the local factor" is huge.

Surely if we give Jamieson 15 million years on the list Barnett can be held for another. There's no significantly better options out there if we want a ruck on the list for 1 year.
Jamieson just isn’t a ruck though. Doesn’t have the heart to compete.

If that’s what we wanted we’d be better off grabbing a mature age recruit from the WAFL or VFL or SANFL

From my point of view, he's always had the heart. Just not the skill or the fitness.
