Will Schofield finally understands(this week) why he hasn't been getting a game, after raging about him not playing vs GWS and Carlton.

Agree with the assertion that WCE need to play the kids - but not just any kids, only the ones that have the traits/qualities that are worth persisting with. Not sure HEdwards is it and I'll OK to trust the coaches to know best.

Hearing the Tradies podcast discuss Allen's potential contract value, I'm starting to get worried him turning into a complete potato this year could bring into question whether a club will offer him enough to hit Band 1 compo. The media is already starting to question it. Send him off to surgery or something as if he keeps this up then we are ****ed.

Latest Gettable (Eagles Related)

-Ryan open to a move

- Parfitt loosely connected for MSD. Cal asked would you do it if it’s pick one? Beverage said can play at the level ect.

-Starvcevich linked to the Bombers if he leaves.

-Oscar situation more delicate than most.

-Harley, needs to make a decision. Eagles offer is there, Vic clubs seem to think it could be live this year if he leaves.

-Dev, Erasmus, Pedlar, Tsatas and Hobbs all gettable.(No clubs linked)

- Campbell Chesser Gettable as well the other way. (No clubs linked)

So apparently Ryan is open to a move
I actually don't mind it to be honest.
Will give us good capital as he has 1 ur to run on his contract
Doesn't sound like he's desperate just looking around?

Obviously he's a valuable player but considering he's contracted probably not the worst thing for us. Late first probably not out of the question? Could be an important piece for the right club.

Don’t think he holds his value up if he plays down back. He’s not a backman.

But can’t really play him as a forward unless they try Archer down back. Those 3 need to play there every week.

The hope is the offer has been made and he’s agreed with a Brisbane. (which I doubt already)

It’s going to get really ugly if it doesn’t trigger band 1. Can’t let your Skipper walk with his potential for end of first round pick which will end up being in the 30s.

If it's not band one we match and force a trade

TB's got similar speed to Edwards, as does McGovern.

What makes Edwards stand out so much is that he's just not as good at anticipating where the ball's going as the other 2 are, so he looks a mile off the pace if it's not kicked to a pack.

His hands also aren't as good, so he drops the ball at his feet, often resulting in a goal.
No offence to the guy but he seems a bit slow brained. Even at WAFL level last week he struggled to pick up what was going on. If you're struggling at reserves level then there is no way he should be getting a call up any time soon.

The suggestions last year were that he was actually interested in GC.

They'd easily cough up a top 10 for him, should they have one.

Might get a D. Rioli type of deal if he keeps this form up.

I think Liam would be open for a move.

I think we always put the “wouldn’t want to leave WA” label on players from WA with very little knowledge, and add on a tax if said WA player is also Indigenous.

Liam Ryan is 28, has 3-4 years of good football left and has played in a terrible team for the last 4.5 seasons, of course he is gettable.

Ryan isn't leaving, his manager went fishing last contract/same deal this time.

Parfitt, if he was a live option WC would have offered a train on spot earlier this year.

Starcevich, if WC were too entertain a deal it would need to be 4 years and heaps of clauses regarding concussion, no imo.

Oscar, I still feel he is staying, he will have to accept the WC offer and the clauses or the straight deal on less.

Harley, this gets discussed every week, wouldn't have a show without him, either signs a 3 or 5 year deal mid year or we start taking offer.

Chesser, would be nice if someone offered us a decent pick for him, I think both Chesser OOC and Petch as a UFA will be determined by what WC can get in MSD and if we get a B grade mid to help around the midfield.
If we get a decent player through the MSD and another through trade I can see both gone.

Judd McVee offered two years apparently.

Plenty of interest on here last season, but the chat has quietened (or I've continued skipping 10-20 pages at a time and missed it)

Need 2 top 3 picks and start to replenish the midfield. Badly.
There's a chance with pick 1 and pick 5 (Demons) we could end up with Dyson and Fred, if we could add in Curtin with pick 8 or 9 (or even CDT), would be foolish not to. Would then have HAwks pick for a later first rounder.

That's where the recruiters have to understand where players will go.

Essendon may be very keen for Dursma and need to move up to get him for example.

He was exploring his QLD options last year. Would be a good replacement for GCS losing Rankine a couple of years ago and we could demand some good players/currency back.

Chat died off after it was reported that he was happy and going to re-sign around the time of his injury.

Suns aren't giving away good currency in terms of picks. They will need every last point for all their academy kids

Why are you so harsh ? He has his issues but he is no way as bad you paint him . He has tried hard against huge men and done his best. That's all we can ask eh ? Plenty in the team who have chucked the towel in before him. Jaysus, has anyone got a spare 3 k ?
He is beyond useless that’s why.. can’t mark, kick, ruck, hit to advantage, guard a hole, would have to have the highest percentage of kicks smothered because his ball drop is so slow it’s laughable..

Couldn't agree more

Let's split some more picks and grab more Baker's, Graham and owies and maybe in a few years we can entrench ourselves in the upper echelon of the bottom four.

When this occurs, we can pop the Chardonnay and celebrate that "we've made it".
I think that is my point. We have given up too much high end picks for average players.
We have been at the bottom since 2020 and don't have the talent we need because we traded poorly, and held onto players too long.

Value our high end picks and select best available young talent, even if it's ruck utility like CDT, and build a team from the draft.
If we had done this we would have our elite 22 year old players.

And be like North?

Be right back, just going to see where they are on the ladder.....

Oh. Maybe it's not as easy as you say.

They do but I meant it in the sense of us getting their best pick and including Ryan in a bundle for more points for them. Eg: Port’s pick and Moyle for Ryan, Hawks 1R, 2R and our 2R
