Like what would they get out of that? Think of how much effort it would be to invent all these scenarios, some of which have been very detailed and open up risk for being exposed as a fraud.

Exactly, if Phil is a troll account whoever is posting deserves an award. I'd say deserves an Oscar if it wasn't an insult at this point. To me it's definitely weird that someone from club land would have a Bigfooty account [despite it having happened multiple times and been confirmed, Croad/McLachlan etc] but I cannot reconcile the fact that if he were fake that would take even rarer talents. Therefore I am a 90% believer and at the end of the day the content is solid so what does it matter.

As for West Coast the club, I haven't trashed your club. I've discussed it's current situation and potential road out, and pretty much stuck to the same message elsewhere as here.

If you're talking Oscar Allen specifically, I haven't said anything different that has been said by some of your own fans here. Certainly haven't posted anything there that could be construed as trashing your club.

And in some discussions I find myself defending WC largely because there are no WC posters around (other than bzparkes occasionally). I don't get involved in the negative posting sh!t about Harley Reid in that thread. That's the main thread where I'm supporting/defending West Coasts position.

Genuinely the worst thing I have said is that I don't believe West Coast has hit rock bottom yet, and we've already had that discussion here. And about a week later Phil in one of his State of West Coasts list posts said the same thing, and not one poster here pulled him up on it.

I used to know a guy. A whole heap of families went on holiday. A few of us are in a spa talking to some random dude. This guy is telling this rando he owns a construction company and bigging himself up. I'm sitting there thinking, "but you know we all know you're lying".

He was a deeply insecure dude who had to lie all the time to cover his insufficiencies.

There are people who make up back stories about themselves to gain some cred or feeling of self worth.

In fact, when you think about it, it’s very common - a bit of gilding the lilly here and gilding the lilly there.
I guess taking on a fake persona is just going somewhat further.

I feel like there's a difference between, stretching the truth to big note oneself (which most would believe Phil does to an extent - e.g. 8 commitments to WCE, but only one eventuated with a contract which wasn't his fault), and completely fabricating a persona for more than 10+ years on an online forum.

I get the point that your trying to make, but it rings a bit hollow when everyone on here already knows your an extraordinarily good looking astronaut who won silver in pistol shooting at the most recent Olympics.

I think you're forgetting that you aren't an eagles supporter.

On this board eagles supporters have every right to rip into the club but it will always come across as insulting when someone supporting another club does it. Even if you've been on this board for a while.

And Phil isn't the only one that gets stuck in with how bad we are. There are plenty of eagles posters that do the same. We are historically shithouse so you will naturally hear a lot of melts. Are you gonna bring up every other eagles supporter doing the same?

I haven't see him for 7-8 years. This happened maybe 10-12 years ago. He didn't run with the "I own a construction company" all the time. The lies would change. He constantly told lies. He was also a raging alcoholic and boasted about how much piss he could put away (probably the only thing he didn't lie about). Other than that, he was a good guy. But a loser.

When we were in the spa that day, it was me, a mate (who was a closer mate of him than I was), and his female flatmate. He worked for his Uncle's construction company as a labourer. The three of us all knew that. He knew that we knew that. He just bullshitted this random guy for about half an hour in front of us.

That’s true.

I’ve been watching Barrass closely as a result and he certainly isn’t running a lot.

He’d definitely make our defence stronger this season, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how we use the pick we got for him, before we can assess the value of not offering him the deal he wanted.

In relation to the Allen camp knowing what other clubs will offer, maybe the other clubs will review their offers once they do the physical assessment.
