List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)

Can someone who is in the know explain why that weakens our hand when trying to get GC #7? (I'm assuming it's a points thing?)

Lots of people saying shit without an explanation. Can someone mansplain it to us?

Also: What have we got it the tank for NGA's? And will Chesser/Ryan picks make a difference.

I admire your determination in responding to these
Mate I have a one year old, I know that when the sheets start getting wet ignoring it isn’t going to end well. Have to change the nappies on the fly or you all end up in strife.

It costs us circa 60 points aka **** all. Essendon the only club who can come close to offering what we can in a move for GC’s pick, and we can wink wink nudge nudge offer far more by not bidding on Uwland.

It doesn’t weaken our GC pursuit whatsoever.

Unfounded melts.

No chance we trade for the GC pick now. Not because we don't have the currency, because we've just shown we won't use the threat of bidding of academy players with the Bris trade. That was our points advantage over other clubs trying for the GC pick and we just proved we are too soft to do so.

We offered 23 and Brisbane countered 16, instead of the Annable threat we scrambled to Freo involved with a week still to go in the trade period.

Maybe now that Brisbane got what they wanted, the will lodge the FA papers tomorrow?
I reckon you are right on the money

I quite like the move from 16 to 12
Feel like at 12 (becomes 13) there’s a decent chance of getting say Dovaston or Farrow (perhaps unlikely but a chance) with Phillipou/Dalton fallback
At 16 (becomes 17) I reckon unlikely
And we’re still positioned to trade up from 12 if we want

Just hope Chesser into Young isn’t a net loss for us

5 + 6 +20 for 1 and 12?

Don't blast me please :(

We traded pick 2 for live picks 9 and 14 in 2022.

Split 3 for live picks 12 and 14 AND Ow.........nevermind in 2024.

Essendons picks 5 and 6 will slide to live 9 and 10, even 11.

Thats pick 1 all by itself. A slight pick upgrade from our 2022 split.

They want Duursma that bad we should ask for more.

Everyone needs to reflect that (provided it's band 1 for Allen) the AFL massaged the situation for this to happen.

The starcevich trade wouldn't have happened without the PP.

How many incidents in previous years have there been of a club losing a player via free agency also bringing in a free agent. I can't remember it, BC it would always be highlighted about how the compensation pick gets diluted. Twomey even said as much, that the AFL is considering allowing bottom 6 clubs to take free agents without losing compensation any free agent leaving.
