2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

So Ginbey released from backline?

or brock/hedwards replacement?
Brock you’d imagine, as much as I like him, using your SSP defender in something like 18 games is never the sign of a healthy squad

Awesome. Should've been 41 but whatever, happy to have him on board. Tigers fans saying he's been huge since coming back from an ACL, top 8 defender in the league. If he keeps that form up, pick 38 will be an absolute bargain. Richmond YouTuber was saying we should've given up pick 16 for him lol.

It's an overpay but immaterial in the grand scheme. Certainly a yellow flag in that we've received unders for players going out and paid overs for players coming in.

I trust the club that there is a plan but Clarke can't afford to screw up any trades from this point forward.

Pardon the interruption but you guys have a ripper with getting Young, understand some of you think its overs with the pick 38 but his output will be far better then that. He will be the perfect complimentary piece to your backline to free Ginbey up to play mid or pair with him in defense.

I think our list manager needs to be banned from dealing with Richmond. he is still emotionally compromised.

Pick 38 better than using 34 but a slight overpay when we had 41 sitting there. Points difference between the picks is 57 (equivalent to pick 51) so negligible but still mildly annoying depending on what our bigger picture plans are

Draft hand now sits at 1,2,13,34,41,53,58

If we’re bundling up 13,34,38 to move up does 57 points make a material difference?

Or are we anticipating at that point of the draft we might be needing to match a bid on Tylay Williams so probably doesn’t impact our ability to match

Difference between who’s available at 38 to 41 not much and every possibility that we’d be able to get the same player

Does continue the trend of Clarke appearing to concede ground in deals that was unnecessary looking on from outside

Welcome to West Coast Tylar Young - if he can play 4-5 seasons as a dependable CHB I don’t think we’ll worry too much about 3 spots in a draft

we wouldn't have had 41 at start of trade period, so we would have offered up 38 already through that time. it would have been dirty to back out and offer 41 when we already offered more and Richmond were probably asking for more. I'm just happy clark didn't trade out 13 to find a pick higher than 34, to help out his old crew.

You don't know they're interested.

They also have Hannaford and Gothard on their list that haven't debuted yet. Daniels hardly played this season also. They're not short of options.

I just can't shake the feeling that Geelong GWS are going to swoop in and take Champion Williams.

We got 41 for Chesser who a month out from the end of the season a lot of people predicted would be delisted so swings and roundabouts. Should we have held out for 41? maybe or maybe the club didn't think it was worth the trouble just to keep some malcontents on BF happy.

I'm greedy.

I'm still holding out that we somehow have four picks inside the top 15 +F1

The question will be, do we use 1/2 to take Duursma or we trade down to get one of Schubert / Dovaston / Lindsay / Grij + something else.

I also hoping that Curtin falls to 41.

***Note; There is a world where GCS trade for Petracca / JUH we somehow get our hands on Patterson and Walters and we are prime to be in that position. So much more is in store we can be anywhere come draft night.

Any competent list manager would’ve got the Young deal done for a pick in the 50’s or at least 41, people will say it’s not worth sooking over but can you imagine when we’re involved in a bigger deal?

We have no idea how to exploit leverage and people really think we’ll bid on kids at 1 and 2, lol.

Forever the nice guys but that good will is never returned to us.
