2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

With the Bombers showing interest in trading up, could we swap 2 for Tigers 3 and Young (maybe some steak knives in amongst it?) to ensure they get their man and don't risk Bombers jumping them?

And would that then unlock not having to use a pick between 30 and 50 on Young which loads up our points to swap with GC?
A jump from 3 to 2 is worth way more than a guy worth a pick in the 50s

What happened to AFL trade tracker. Did we not get pick 33?

West Coast Eagles receive:

Brandon Starcevich, a first-round pick (currently No.12) and a third-round pick (currently No.52)

Good to see West Coast and Fremantle list managers behave like adults after years of competing. Took care of business early and we can both move on to the next deals.
Hope to see more of this.

Yes we are competition & we hate each other on-field - but we also face the same systematic issues in the AFL.

Joining forces when its mutually beneficial is a no-brainer.

Great find Dylan82!
Just had a look and he looks a VERY nice prospect.
Would love 1 of T Blamires or A Anderson with a rookie spot.

Would prefer both of these players rather than some old recycled player.

You're aware we ended up giving 22 and 23 in the big trade right? I feel like you missed about 30 pages.

Perfectly aware. Are you?

Do you realise a four pick upgrade from 16 to 12 cost us pick 22?

And THEN pick 23 landed us Starcevich PLUS picks 33 and 52

So he cost us a 10 pick downgrade from 23 to pick 33. And we got a 3rd rounder in pick 52.

It's not hard people.

Official AFL twitter account has us getting 33

Is this performance art?

While not complaining you still complain.

It's this sort of negativity that I find frustrating - maybe it's just me..
It's you, bro. I haven't said anything about yesterday's trade. In fact, I said I doubt Clarke is that incompetent that he wouldn't bring up Annable bidding in recent negotiations. Other posters challenged me on that. These are the people still taking Clarke to task.

Perhaps it's them that you need to talk to?

There’s plenty of different ways to break the trade down into parts. But in my view, your way has us massively overpaying for the four pick upgrade in order to make the final price for Starcrvich seem like better value.

Annnnnd we see what a ****fest the system is:
  • Premiers get 2x free agents for nothing (Band 1 & Band 2)
  • Premiers Band 1 FA is being poached from the wooden spooners
  • Premiers have a RFA that wants to go to wooden spooners.
  • Premiers get to bend over wooden spooners by forcing a trade dor RFA by holding FA compo over wooden spooners heads.

🌈 Equalisation 🌈 working as intended. Don't forget the top 4 academy pick they get for peanuts same draft.

Feel like Hutchinson might be underrated if he played the Cripps role. Has a good tank to run laps of Optus like Cripps does but he also has a good jump and mark. With all the Wingers we have he could be bumped to the forward pocket.
Hutch looks a natural to take over the Cripps role.
Good on a lead, good tank and good mark, totally looks likely his role imo.

Really.

Massively over paid?

History and facts say your wrong.

We landed a F2nd by moving 2 spots down the 1st round in the teens a couple of years ago. Essendon paid up to land Hobbs before Port did.

We paid a F3rd to move up two spots in the 3rd round to land Hall.

What do you think the cost of a 4 pick upgrade from 16 to 12 should have been?

I reckon this draft has "Movie Vibes" all over it.
Down and out team on the ropes makes massive comeback by recruiting unwanted players and blending them in with their own rag tag young team and win the Premiership in 2026, beating Hawthorn on the siren.
Vontae Mack no matter what.

My way of looking at it was than in return for the four pick upgrade from 16 to 12, we downgraded 22 to 33.

Then the second part of the trade was Starcevich and 52 for 23.

On Lore’s draft pick table, the ‘to match’ value from Pick 37 onwards is 0.

Seems a very odd pick to be automatically able to match from, surely you still need points from there and a few picks onwards?
Probably straight after 2 rounds of standard draft ie no father-son, academy etc 18+18,=36
*Just guessing though

Becomes 20 to 16 upgrade after bids.

Points value pick 44.
