Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

Geez there’s a bit of jealousy how quickly Richmond have and Melbourne and potentially Essendon are going to be able to rebuild by trading a few senior players while we languish at the bottom having carried ours until retirement age

Melbourne have a $700k hole in their salary cap for each of the next 5 years as they’ll be subsidising GWS to take Oliver

Imagine post-flag that Luke Shuey was fully fit, won 5 more B&F and then at the age of 30 decided to bail to Freo.

That is what the Dons supporters are going through right now.

Except for the flag of course, that would be ridiculous.

Yep. They will have 3 players in Rowell, Anderson and Petracca who are top-10 in the competition level when on song. And plenty of other good players too. Dimma pushing all his chips into the middle.
Flagmantle entering their window at the wrong time. No chance of a flag while Lions and Suns are peaking

Hawks offering pick 10, 22 & F1 for a 30 year old. Seems pretty reasonable even if he is contracted.

Still less than what Gold Coast just traded more to Melbourne for Petracca

GC would be about 1000 points short to match a Patterson bid at pick 2 then wouldn't they?
Can go into a deficit, think up to 1,100 points? But they’ll also flip their firsts in the teens for more points. They’ll match any Uwland and Patterson bid, Addinsall is the one we might be able to shake loose.

Love how Merrett’s manager is flapping his gums about how he’s never seen an offer so good for a 30 year old player, and then 2 hours later Petracca (who will be 30 next season) brings back three first rounders include two in the top 10.
GC can afford to overpay since they effectively get multiple first rounders every year courtesy of the academy.

plus a 1100 points deficit next year means they can match 1 and 2. They seemingly lost the 37 and an replaced it with a better 2026 F2 lets say 19 to 23 range. So they'll have enough but will wipe out 2 years of drafts almost.

Pretty sure they can.

Also I'm pretty sure they can trade picks between a bid being lodged and them matching, think I remember Brisbane doing it last year.

Yep. They can cover Uwland + Patterson or Uwland, Addinsall + Murray.
Will be interesting to see where clubs rate Addinsall, Murray and Coulson. Reckon Jai Murray might be a decent get.
