Caleb Poulter is an interesting delisting. Ok vfl stats but always seemed to be sub at the afl level .. quick decent user, can defend or kick a goal. Nice mullet…. Would be a good wing option

Yep, people keep throwing up delisted players on here like we're ever had a successful one, lol.

Wasn't Mark Hutchings delisted by St Kilda? And Jayden Hunt was a delisted free agent I think and he did his job.

Sure, don't expect superstars - but does anyone have that expectation?

Hunt wasn't delisted.

Well, then Hutch is probably the only one.

He was only on Saints list for a year though.

The point being, we've brought in quite a few delisted players over the years and only 1(Hutch) was any good. I'd rather just try blokes who never got drafted to begin with but are gun state league players.

Hunt was a UFA, from memory, not delisted.

Hutch also went back to West Perth first and we drafted him out of there if I remember correctly

No harm in letting some of these delisted guys spend a year in the state leagues to show if they’re up to it.

Also gives us a year to assess what we have, especially guys like Dev, Hall, Long and Hutch, who could be long term contributors or could equally be delist candidates in a couple of years.

The one I’d like to snaffle if we can is Hollands. He would immediately be best 22.

Is that the rate of their hitouts won that go to advantage?

Flynn may score highly in that metric, but his rate of actually beating his opponent was pretty dismal.

Williams probably outperformed Flynn in terms of percentage of hitouts won, but his hitout to advantage rate is probably one of the lowest in the league.
I did a bit of a deep dive into these stats the other night.

Bailey actually wins taps at a reasonable rate - higher than the likes of Xerri and TDK - but his hitouts to advantage was under 20%, the lowest of any recognised ruck with a decent sample size.

Flynn is comfortably the worst in the league in terms of hitout win percentage - which is bizarre because he used to be quite competitive in that stat. His hitouts to advantage rate is below average but within normal range (25-35%), but again is way down on what it used to be.

How does he drop 10% in hitouts total. Its a massive drop that I'm struggling to explain

Some of the blame is probably due to our lack of high talent midfielders.

This has always been the case, he's a great competitor and stoppage player but he's not a good tap ruckman.

Flynn's greatest strength is his work around the ground.

Neither are that skilled at actual rucking
