2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

How do payouts work with delisting someone who's contracted then picking them back up? Do we have to pay them their full contract value, then pay them again for the contract they get rookied with? If we delist someone in contract and they get picked up by another team, do we still have to pay them out?

They get paid whatever their contract value is, regardless of whether or not they get redrafted

If another club picks the player up, they take on his existing contract

Whats the point of the Rookie list these days?
Essentially nothing. It has been warped and distorted from what it originally was, there is materially no difference.

When we sign Dev to it, he plays all 23 games plus some finals, then wins our B+F from the rookie list, that’s all fair game according to the AFL.

Can add Setterfield to the list of delisted players by the looks. Doesn't specifically mention WC but does say other clubs are keen. Averaged 22 touches and 7 tackles a game this year. Seems a weird one

Setterfield is the classic big inside mid who is a depth player at AFL level imo, probably not going too move for less than 2 years.
Is he better than C Hall? Probably not.
Dev would be taking his spot and there is more chance of Dev improving with more game time.

Chance that Livingstone has already been delisted, but no public announcement made as he's a Cat B rookie so not announcement worthy.

He couldn't crack a game in his two years on the list, which I might be wrong, but he would be the only player over those two years to have that honour. Even Rowlinson (1), Barnett (1) and Johnston (6) managed senior football.

Correct, Grego’s debut in the final round this year meant Livingstone was the only player on the list who hadn’t debuted.

it probably should be mentioned that Barnett was a final round call up not really based on merit but injuries and maybe a touch of charity

He sure as hell didn’t deserve it on pure merit

He played in round 2 last year, a little surprisingly, partnering Billiams when Flynn was out injured. It lasted a week (less, I think he was subbed out), he was replaced by Jilliams the following week.

Two.

2023 vs Saints when he came on very late as the sub.

2024 vs Giants when he got subbed out.
Hopefully the Penny's dropped that it's last chance saloon for him.

Seemed to get more involved, especially physically, towards the end of the season.
