Gone because he’s getting cut or gone because he’s done something again?

He’s a pass either way. Only Geelong could get away with that Reputation Rebuild.
Not sure. They seem to think he has some attitude issues with his fitness / professionalism. Loads of talent but with all the red flags hopefully it’s a straight delisting and we aren’t involved.

They reckon Sydney Stack might be gone on the Richmond board

Was he said to basically have to get out of Perth to have an AFL career, or am I getting him confused with someone else?

Didn't he beat his girlfriend?

if so, then i'd imagine he's got no AFL future.

EDIT: No turns out was "just" COVID breaches? Guess he might be option for rookie list, but would need to have no expectations.

Yeah you're thinking of Elijah Wood.

For a highlight video from a single game, it’s a pretty good one. Even in that first highlight, although he missed his target you can see he’s got a decent kicking action.

You should check out how poor some of the highlight videos are of most other draftees, eg.

I still remember the Izak Rankine highlight video. He looked like Chris Judd, but faster and more evasive. Goes to show you can't completely trust highlights.

Jeez, Round 19 and he’s hoping to reach the trigger in ‘the next few weeks’ after missing 1 (2?) games all year…what’s his trigger?

Being alive by Round 23?
To be fair, at times this season it has seemed unlikely that we would have 22 players alive by the final round.

Hi folks,
How is Oscar Allen progressing with his injury?
I have him in 2 keeper leagues and it hurt having him missing all season.
Cheers.
They put him on ice this year as a precaution. We hope that means he's good to go for a full pre-season, but I don't have much faith in our medical team. We probably won't know until Jan next year (see if he gets through the running loads).

Our third and fourth rounder are equal to pick 28/29. I'd be ok with doing those two picks for Robertson and Lions fourth round pick.

Adding Culley, Philippou, best mid (our second rounder), ruck/key forward who's slid (quick google makes me thingk on or more of Broadbent/Sculley/Keeler will be available and look like talents) (Ports secound rounder), Robertson, would be a good mid season/preseason draft period. 4 young quality mids, a decent ruck project.
That doesn't work for us though.

We can only take as many picks to the draft as we have available list spots.

We can't take 8 or 9 third and fourth rounders in. At best we might have room for 1 third rounder, and we have Ports already. And not to many other teams will be looking for picks this draft (maybe Essendon, but they will be hoping to use their first two picks before bids come for their father son twins).

Ok that didn't answer my question. What is your definition of a major rebuild?

I'll ask it a different way.

After this 5 year rebuild where will the Eagles be? Top 4, bottom of the 8? And will they play finals within that 5 year period?

If your answer is ''no they will only play finals in another 5 years time min, 2027" I disagree. That would be 7 years outside the top 8. Weak clubs with weak boards may take that long. The Eagles have shown they know how to build lists and they don't spend 7 years outside the top 8.

You keep mentioning ünless they trade in a star.

For the Pies watch them land McStay and Taranto.

For the Eagles we won't be trading in big names but hopefully add Roberston this year or next. 2025 Tim English RFA. So options to find the missing pieces after hitting the draft in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
I won't use my definition of a major rebuild, I'll use David Noble's. 3 consecutive drafts, where you're loading up on atleast 3 top 25 picks each draft, with 1 of those picks being at the top end of the draft, then you start trading in players to fill needs.

Unfortunately Noble deviated from this when we traded in Neale, and now we're being caught short with a talent gap on our list. (not that I'm saying we were wrong to trade for Neale, and add our other lesser name recruits)

I don't have a crystal ball, so I have no idea who you might trade in to fast track you back to in finals, or when.

If you rebuild solely through the draft, then you're probably looking at a North or Gold Coast scenario. It takes a long time for those kids to mature to a point where they can actually win you games.

If you have a strong board and good scouting and recruiting department, then you're ahead of the competition.

As I have said before, I'm just here for the discussion while you rebuild. I don't have any football experience, so my opinions mean sfa.

Its a conundrum isnt it.
Some on here saying that traditionally we dont bottom out for long and can build a good list very quickly while others are saying they have no faith in our club to draft the best players available in positions of need.
