Just listened into Matty Rendel responding on the go home factor for interstate talent. He was very clear that the moment a Vic team selected McDonald or Grainger-Barrass, he believes West Coast would be on the phone talking to the player and his agent saying that we would be wanting him when his contract is up.

So as expected, we say nothing in the media but act hard and fast quietly behind the scenes.

Everyone makes mistakes and at the very least Elijah Taylor has taken responsibility and admitted guilt. I would much rather a sit down discussion with him and if it went well to have him on the list than stack. Stack coming home is a bad idea.

It would likely take brander and out first pick this year or brander and our second next year. He'd also have to agree to move away from victoria so not likely at all.

Maybe, the idea is to play Cripps as a CHF - certainly he is capable of doing that - it's all rumours though at this stage. Certainly, Collingwood are up to something.

It seems he is on 400k+ a year. Would mean if Brander goes we need to find 250kish to get him in and under the cap. I cant imagine it would be possible without signing up Clark to a huge long term contract and asking for him to take much less this year. Would be possible I spose but pretty much as unlikely as you are going to get

Please, just stop talking about how we couldnt fit a $400k pa player into our cap. Its $40k above the averaage AFL wage.

It would simply mean a fringe player such as Ah chee, Hutchings or Jetta are not retained and a bit of back endied incentives are added.

Both Freo and West Coast could accomodate that. Add another year if need be.
