Are the Lions trying to free up cap space ? ( Daniher )Thats all I can think of . Probably they asked us if we were interested rather than us chasing . Put it out to the media so the kid is wanted by us rather than pushed by Lions .

Rate Witho but not sure how he fits and what he'd cost, being contracted for 2 more years.
He's clearly out of favour at the Lions, played just 6 games this year.

A bit disappointed that Freo seem to be a lot more interested in Clark than we are. Seems like we've given up on getting him completely, while Freo are still keeping tabs

Who/what do we trade to get him out of Geelong?
I don't imagine Geelong will let him go cheap if history is anything to go by.

Can't see why a player with no connection to WA would even join us except for increased chance of a flag. Brisbane is probably just as close to one(?). He originates from near Geelong, so you'd think he'd prefer heading back there if they have any interest.

Agree improves our list.
Witherden would free up Duggan to play in the midfield. Witherden is a very good user of the ball.
Langdon is an upgrade on Petch and is a good fill in while the Pot Smoker is on sabbatical.
My only worry is that Witherden would cost too much in draft capital, a commodity that we don't have a lot of .

Big fan of Witho and would be very sad to lose him. Initially looked possibly the best of the him/Berry/McCluggage draft for us, but has fallen back a bit due to Birchall coming into the team (which Lions fans are somewhat divided about).
A future second rounder would get it done quite easily I think. The ideal trade from a Lions fan PoV would be Jarrod Cameron to unite him with Charlie in our forward line - I'm not sure where Jarrod is at, but am guessing you'd want a bit more for him than Witherden.

Exceptionally talented, was about to post here earlier, but the word is already out so it would seem.
Overtaken by Starcevich this year, probably looking for more opportunity as he probably would be first choice in 15 other teams.
Will be turning just 23 next year.
Good size and has all the parts to possibly go through the midfield as well.
Know West Coast asked during the second hub, but thought were put off by his price - maybe that has gone down now Daniher is delivered?
Would be a minimum 2nd round pick to get him however, unless the Lions are in drastic need of a salary dump.
Had actually thought being an ex Geelong Falcon, that Witherden was likely to go to the Cats as replacement for Clark should he depart.
Would be happy to see him as an Eagle.

Freo like to flap their gums every trade period and make a lot of noise - we on the other hand usually play our cards closer to our chests.
