What's the story on the new ACT case?

Diplomat returned from France, drove himself home from Sydney and quarantined, has apparently only been in contact with family. They think they'll be able to keep this one contained. So long as his family never went out of course...

A positive or negative of the marches if that we'll have a better understanding of how much of the virus is still lurking in hidden spots in 2 weeks times. Continued reporting of zeros would give SA more confidence that the virus has been eliminated,

If in two weeks time there has been no spike, there wouls be ZERO reason not to open things up and get back to some sense of normality.

The borders might not open (though I think they should be open already) but everything else should be fair game.

You'd have to open things up further if there are two more weeks of zero.

I think once you achieve elimination you're going to fight hard to keep it that way. I can see SA keeping the borders with Vic and NSW closed until they report a string of zeros for community transmissions.

More and more scientists, who aren’t corrupted by CCP funding, getting on board the lab made virus train.

Remember when that was just a conspiracy theory?

Even an Adelaide dude working on a vaccine said something similar on 7 news a few weeks back.. no one seemed to notice.

I think around the 24th June Marshall will announce significant easing of restrictions in SA starting from July1st. The 24th will hopefully give us 28 days COVID-19 free and a provide a solid bargaining chip to deal with the States and Territories we feel are COVID safe.

I reckon if by the first week in July we have local sport back, restrictions to pubs and clubs eased to 50 patrons per area, FIFO football and some SA border restrictions lifted we will have done pretty well. Life will not be back to normal but it will be bearable compared to April and May.

The bottom line is no more positive cases between now and June 24th.

.....

And while I do think we should be easing restrictions even more, and I'm not against the idea of allowing some normality by having some degree of crowds at the football, the idea of "well a rally for human rights can have a bunch of people why can't a bunch of people watch some people kick a football around" is also not exactly like for like.

According to the Virus, they are exactly like for like.

The Virus doesn't differentiate between a protest crowd and a footy crowd.

Progress is being made. For the first time since the 5,6,7th of March Australia has recorded three consecutive days of single digit positive tests.

It’s just nailing community spread is the game.
I know a couple of mercy flights that have come into Australia over the last 3 days maybe 400 people. You can bet London to a brick we will have cases in quarantine in Brisbane Melbourne and Sydney popping up.

The restrictions around kids indoor sport can suck a fat one. Has to be 15 minute breaks between teams using facilities, so we now have hour and a half trainings reduced to 40 minutes. Plus reems of fecking paperwork. Beyond a joke now.

Wait until the United States declares this a biological terrorist attack. Which, incidentally, is the only time the US military can make arrests in lieu of police officers.

As I posted a while back they should separate community based cases from overseas quarantine cases so we know how much of the virus remains in circulation out in the community. I suspect that in recent days those Victorian figures have been inflated by overseas quarantine cases.

Looks like this bloke is wrong again. This morning's Monopoly Times is carrying a front page that suggests SA's current restrictions will be eased within days. Looks like announcements re crowds at community sport and easing of pub restrictions will be closer to the 9th of June than the 24th. Happy to be wrong about the dates and hopefully the Murdoch minions are right.

Hopefully FIFO footy is added to the list sometime soon.

Meanwhile over in the UK there is a huge bun fight over the UK Government's too late approach to self isolation for overseas travelers. The CEO of Ryan Air, Michael O'Leary, has labelled the self isolation rules as 'idiotic'.

Oh boy, these third world countries eh, too little too late and when they do get it right no one can agree that it is right.

All this really proves is that Boris Johnson ****ed up big time. Boris got Brexit through but he got COVID horribly wrong.

Some announcements to be made this pm after Marshall’s Transitioning meeting.

Maybe why the increased Murdoch Press stories which seem to undermine Trump - maybe they need to remove him from office?
