Active case numbers just nose-dived from ~450 to 143 apparently due to NSW cleaning their data.
Does data cleaning mean accurate data??

According to www.covidlive.com.au site its because - * NSW Health cases not recovered/deceased after 6 weeks are no longer active

So you get this discrepancy - https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/find-facts-about-covid-19

**Active cases are calculated as: total cases excluding persons recovered and lives lost. Cases that are not recorded as recovered or deceased after six weeks are not included.

Too early to celebrate just yet. In news just in from Beijing a new cluster of covid-19 cases have been detected in a seafood market in China. Web is showing footage of Chinese Police swarming the Xin Fa Di wholesale market. Officials said traces of the coronavirus found on a chopping board with “imported” salmon.

Eight new cases in Victoria today. Six from hotel quarantine and one from the Rydges cluster. The other is a doctor who worked across three clinics in Melbourne.

Only four of today's 12 new cases Australia wide have been listed as community transmission.

Everyone returning from overseas must be flying into Melbourne these days or the Victorians are unlucky to be getting all the infected travelers.

That breaks Australia's run of days with single digit cases.

The Chinese will probably say it is Alaskan salmon imported fresh from the USA, then again they might say it is Tasmanian salmon from Australia.

I don't trust anything that comes from the mouths of the Chinese these days.

It should be more accurate. 6 weeks of inactivity is more likely due to shoddy record keeping than prolonged illness. Even those with extended hospital stays are there because they're recovering from the ventilator, not the virus.

NRL game between Bulldogs and Roosters postponed because of COVID-19 scare

Bulldogs star Aiden Tolman was “in a bit of a panic” as his COVID-19 scare saw today’s game against the Roosters be postponed.

The Roosters’ NRL match against the Bulldogs has been postponed because of a COVID-19 scare.

Channel 9’s Danny Weidler broke the news, reporting the decision was made because the child of a Bulldogs star goes to a school that was affected by coronavirus.

The Roosters-Bulldogs game, scheduled for 4.05pm today at Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, has been pushed back and will now go ahead at 7pm tomorrow night if Tolman returns a negative test.

In addition to Tolman, Weidler has reported the entire Bulldogs team may also need to undergo tests.

Eighteen cases so far today nine each in Victoria and NSW. No report on how many are community transmissions but those are significant spikes. WOW that really is a worry.

You read these figures yet we also read this...

Hopefully this spike is the result of overseas travelers in quarantine testing positive. If it isn't South Australia should not be opening the Victoria and NSW borders.

Will probably blame Australia as they seem to be blacklisting us

Wonder if rally related?

Hang on. The NSW Health Minister was just on the ABC describing the state as an oasis during this COVID crisis.

He must’ve been on the sauce till the wee hours of the morning.

That is the same Health Minister who runs the Department that allowed 2,700 passengers to disembark from the Ruby Princess.

Wondered the same thing myself but there is no detail as of yet. Mind you the NSW book keeping has been that bad over the past week that tomorrow Gladys is just as likely to put it down to a clerical error.
But it's OK. She will order the Police to investigate in order to prove that it had nothing to do with anyone in government, or the public service. It'll be a data analyst error at the service provider.

3 of the 9 in Vic are Aussies returning from overseas while 5 are family contacts of someone who tested positive. One is still under investigation so it could be a case of community transmission.

A concern is the number of Aussies returning from o/s who test positive. Shows who bad things are in some countries outside of Aus

Marshall has (effectively) said if it's legal we'll get borders to everywhere except NSW and Vic prior to July 20. The country could largely go everywhere except NSW and Vic now, NSW probably in a week or two, Covidtoria July 20. Andrews and his half arsed restrictions on protesters whilst Victoria was still recording cases can suffer isolation. His stupidity doesn't need reward (or risk to everyone else).

I reckon Andrews has been doing well. He came under scrutiny for being too strict and if he wasn't I reckon Vic would be in a worse situation. You can just imagine how much further scrutiny he would've received if he quashed a BLM rally.

Yes one and the same. Didn't he also have a shot at a reporter very early on in this event

These clusters keep popping up all over Melbourne and just when the Heath Authorities think they are on top of the situation another spot fire appears.

I had the same thought about Aussies returning home and the amount of virus there must still be on the international scene. It is a good case for Australia to keep it's international borders firmly shut.

If the Cricket World T20 Cup gets going later in the year there should be no international crowd component- Australian residents only.

All returning international students should be quarantined and tested in Commonwealth approved facilities at their expense. There is no way I would trust other nations to quarantine and test students before they leave their country of origin.
