I just popped my head in here to stick up for Tredders.

No doubt I’ll cop some flak.

Copping flak sticking up for Warren Tredrea on the Port board would be the most 2021 thing to happen yet.

I'm Wazzas biggest fan and I know he's a great guy but I'm going to separate everything good about him from his stance on vaccine.

Tredders in this thread is on the wrong side.

South Australia's borders will remain open but all travellers from NSW, Victoria and the ACT will be required to have a test on arrival and isolate until a result is received.

They will need to have a further test on day six if they are still in the state.

This will be great for tourism haha

This morning Steven Marshall says there will be no closure of SA’s border right now, but the government is “extraordinarily concerned” about Omicron.

Then WTF did you fling our borders open just days after scientists confirmed the rapid global spread of the new Omicron variant and stated clearly they needed time to undertake research to determine the risk it posed and whether existing vaccines were effective against it.

That 80% vaccination target used as the trigger point is fecken meaningless if the vaccines are ineffective against this new strain.

WTF did you not delay that opening for a few weeks until after that research came in?

What a bumbling idiot.

People from greater adelaide will have to quarantine upon entering queensland for 14 days.

The rules are so random.
So by opening up to 2 states we are now closed to the ones that we were open to a week ago. Such progress.

Qld has declared Greater Adelaide has been declared a hotspot, with arrival restrictions to come in place from tomorrow morning. "Anyone who has been in Greater Adelaide since 1am on the 28th of November who arrives in Queensland after 1am tomorrow will be required to go into 14 days mandatory home or hotel quarantine," Ms D'ath said.

It's almost like the point of national cabinet agreeing upon a target was to avoid this situation and to all move forward together at the same time.

The little fiefdoms and their "too good for local council, not good enough for federal politics" leaders haven't been able to help themselves though.

Credit to Victoria for at least getting this stage of the game right.

WA is wanting to do it’s own thing, but for the rest of the states and territories it could have been largely avoided by having them all open at the same time, when the last hit 80% double vaccinated. This piecemeal here a border, there a border was inevitably going to lead to state/territory leaders putting themselves front and centre as saviour again.

This State, seriously.

I'm nearly over all this Covid stuff. Until a better option comes along you get vaccinated then live life and hope for the best. Thats's the best we have right now.

At the moment we need a team of experts to start trying to track down the other disease obviously running rampant throughout the State that removes any sort of balanced, mature, logical thinking and replaces such with scared, panicky, attention seeking lying narcissists.

So we opened up just before Christmas and the moment we get a few cases it becomes obvious SA Health can't deal with anything above a basic ripple. App supposed to do the majority of work for them is crap, website crashes frequently, nobody can make contact with anybody in SA Health for clarification on any matter. Contact tracing and 'hotspots' can be days behind. And all of this with 20 odd cases and 1 person in hospital.

What were these fools doing during the lead up to opening?

And now we are deeply concerned above a variant of Covid that at the moment, from what I can gather anyway, looks like a mild cold would beat the crap out of.

WTF are these 'leaders' up to?

Sure, if information becomes available that tells us the new variant has some nastiness to it that it doesn't appear to have right at the moment then act accordingly. Until that time comes shut the **** up and stop panicking people.

What a bunch of attention seeking morons we have.

Can't help but feel that Spurrier has not let go of the 'elimination' strategy no matter what else she says.

I've seen you laughed off the croms board. Don't worry there's a few anti vax peanuts here you can hang out with.

We opened up too soon and for political reasons. Now we are paying the price for that.

The "we're vaccinated now so let it rip" strategy might be okay in general except all the children are unvaccinated and there's no guarantee that they're not as invulnerable as people think

Health authorities believe an outbreak of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has spread across a south-west Sydney school and local climbing gym, as urgent genomic sequencing continues this weekend in what the NSW Chief Health Officer described as a “rapidly evolving situation”. Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said “results on further likely cases are due later today”, after genomic sequencing determined three students in a 13-person virus cluster at Regents Park Christian School had been infected with the Omicron variant. The remaining 10 infections are being urgently sequenced.

Actually, putting aside for one minute every single thing you’ve said in this post is a lie, it appears to me like most of the people in this thread are thouroughly fed up with the prevailing narrative.

On one hand Tredrea is taking a stance, so if he's standing by his principles and convictions, well atleast you can consider that admirable.

On the other hand it will be interesting to see how principled he and his kooky wife are when his 6 figure salary stops rolling in. Not sure how pleased his ex wife will be either when his child support drops off.

Tredders gonna get a pay day either out the door or later so he'll be right:

Well that ****s a mate of mine, he's meant to be driving out of Adelaide this weekend and taking a week to drive across to Brisbane to live with his GF. I guess they're now going to have to drive all the way through from the SA/QLD border
