What is with your Banfield bio? would like to know your thoughts on him.

Seem to have left out his bio, I will fix that up tomorrow. He is a highly skilled utility with good speed. He finds space regularly and makes good decisions. Will need to add some weight but there is talent to work with. HE will probably go a bit higher than where I and most others have place him.

Very happy with Macrae, Wright and Motlop as a late punt. We will hope that Towers falls to our 3rd pick as we wouldn't take someone like Atkins, I don't think. No need for more inside mids.

Reckon Clurey is exactly the kind of player the Crows would look at with our first pick, although, I would also really like Josh Simpson. Also, have a sneaking suspicion we will look at Irra very closely at our second pick. Nice effort. :thumbsu:

Always interesting to read the phantoms, a good effort.

However you have given Port 3 players under 180cm, 2 of them well under, that just wont happen.

If Grundy is still there at our pick I doubt he'll still be there for the next pick.

Would people who have actually seen Hrovat play live say he's too small? because reading all these write ups it seems as if he has all the tools, and sometimes players play above their height (if that makes sense).
Would recruiters be put off by his height?

I don't think they would be put off by his height to the extent that he will slip past pick 50. If he was 182cm+ he would probably be inside my top 20. But he is not, so I see him being taken around pick 30ish.

For a Brisbane supporter, do you think you've met Brisbane's needs? I'd say we've got Lisle, Karnezis and Acorn all vying for the 2nd fwd spot, and you have us taking what you rank as Fwd, KPD, KPF, KPF, Fwd. I reckon our biggest need is a classy inside-mid... Particularly since, to date, Polec hasn't shown that he can hack it at the top level.

Decent rankings of players though - a few differences to others we've seen here, which i like, but a good ranking overall... not great on some of the teams' needs, which i suppose comes back to your stated intent at the top of the piece that it was to get names out there, not to get team needs in there... nice work.

When do you think that you will match players to the order in which you think they will actually go?

As much as I hate to say it I don't think Ace will become what we have hoped he will. He is not a KPF and does not have the athletic capabilities to become a third tall. Karnezis is more of a third tall who has shown a lot in the reserves playing midfield, he just has so much time and space. Heres hoping he will become our Jobe Watson/ Scott Pendlebury :p.

Retzlaff won't play any footy next year and could very well be delisted.

We certainly need a KPD but I would probably go for a mature type in Hartigan.

O'Brien is one who is a bit underrated by some, needs to work on his tank to consistently have an impact throughout the game.

I will no doubt be changing the rest as we get closer to the draft. I agree that we do need another classy midfielder. I'd love to somehow get Macrae.

Polec has shown a bit at the senior level but injuries have hurt him.

I will be extremely happy if Brodie Grundy slips down to pick 12. In fact I will skip around all day. I consider him a top 3 prospect and an almost certain bet to go in the top 10. However, many teams have learnt the lesson of not drafting ruckmen with super-high picks. Grundy will fit in nicely at St Kilda, he and McEvoy can form a daunting duo.

He have Jaschk or what ever his name going first as the KPF then name Shaw about 6-8 spots later and open with him being the best KPF in this draft????? how does this make sense? thanks

Great draft result for Brisbane. Except if Longeran is available at our 3rd pick id take him. Good read and great effort well done!

Cheers, will fix that up shortly :thumbsu:. And I take it your a fan of Broomhead?
Yer big fan. Didn't pay much attention to him at Champs but went back and watched his games again. Think he will be a jet and potentially a real bargain. Has a bit of work to do and may not see his true potential for 2-3 years because he has some work to do in the gym. See his career panning out similar to a Sidebottom/Beams as a HFF that eventually moves to the midfield. Would be a perfect fit for us as most of ours start in the backline and then push to the midfield that it's getting rather crowded back there.

So you rate them in that order? is Hogan a much better talent than either, thanks for the reply btw just trying to make sense of it

I rate Hogan alot higher than I rate Shaw. Hogan can have a enormous impact on games as he gets high possession numbers and take lots of marks. Potential match winner.

Good job Cotter. A good read.

I have had Hartigan in my mock the last 3 years and think he would be an excellent get for a lot of clubs who need to shore up their KPD stocks. I won't go with him again so watch him get picked up this year :)

Cheers Quigley, Can't wait to read yours:thumbsu:.

Hartigan would certainly be able to make an impact at a number of clubs. For some reason I think he has a better chance of being drafted this year.

4. Melbourne: Dayle Garlett
Position: Forward/Midfielder
Height: 181cm

Outside midfielder/ small forward who can light up the field with his pace and his ability to make the best decision under any amount of pressure. He takes the game on as often as he possibly can. He really does hurt the opposition with his penetration and ability to pinpoint passes. Think he would fit in nicely at Richmond.

Ok, I'm presuming that it's a typo.

Anyhoo, I really like the looks of Garlett, but I would of thought we'd only take him if he was available at 13. Neeld has also stated that they'll probably be going after bigger bodied mids.

Good attempt although it seems people try to do things a bit different at the top end to create some discussion?

Yes it's a typo.

I'd think you will look really hard at someone like O'Rourke as he has that nice mix of speed and endurance which is great to see for a inside mid who wins the hard ball and wins clearances.

And yes, I tried to change it around a bit to create discussion and not to be too similar to the others.
