He may be opinionated but at least he's not a drone like the rest of them. When was the last time Aker was in the news for getting drunk and making an idiot of himself like a lot of others do?

As much as I love Ben and considering he is a Geelong boy I reckon I'd just take Aker. His ability to smash you from outside 50 on either foot off one step is along with Ablett Snr something you just don't see anymore.

He has consistently been high up in league tackle counts and goal assists. At his best is absolutely exhilirating. One of my favourite players to watch.

Cousins I could watch all day too. His ability to run his guts out, get smashed and get up and keep running. He's also a genuine goal kicking midfielder. There aren't too many of them around these days.

What I've always liked about Cousins is his ability to inspire the team to greater heights. Even with captain Judd, the players still turned to Ben to bring the best out of them.

Akermanis had Michael Voss to do this role.

Voss was the one who went to each player and made sure he was in the right frame of mind, and if he wasn't, he'd get him into it.


Akermanis is a brilliant individual.


Cousins is a brilliant leader.


Football ability is equal, but I'd take the leader over the individual personally.

Aker is one of my favourite players of all time to be honest. I know ben was great, but i think aker did more in brisbanes glory years. Also think playing alongside judd and kerr may of made cousins a bit better than he might of been - not saying he wouldnt of been brilliant by himself just saying having those two next to him would of helped.

Aker is a match winner. Some of the games he played in 2008 even. He can just play 20-30 mins of football that can turn the game on its head.

He also has an incredible left foot - they say it has more penetration over 30m than his right!
