The ABCs not left wing......
Not to mention how they were such an absolute stalwart through the previous national crisis (bushfires- remember them?) that I would have thought any ideology-free government would consider proper funding of the ABC to be just plain bloody commonsense.

Don’t disagree I just think labour will always be more willing to fund it than the libs

I went onto eBay recently to buy an immune support product. One supplier was charging $1000 for that product normally ranging between $22 and $30. That’s pretty low

So I sent him a message saying that he had exactly 24 hours to remove the listing otherwise I would report his multiple trade practices breaches. He did but was pretty disgraceful I had to do that

I daresay there's more to Albanese's utterances on the unemployed than merely what's in Hansard.

And my assumption was to do with the intelligence of voters, not with what I believe or don't believe to be the case on a given subject.

(That's the problem when you make assumptions. You need to check you're talking about the same thing as the poster you're replying to. ;))
Given you replied to my post you should heed your own advice in this first place.

was it Pete Evans?

Much prefer Albo he gets up in parliament during the COVID 19 crisis and asks for more funding for the ABC. Ignore the unemployed and focus on those with safe government jobs.
Didn't like the shape of Shorten's head, don't like the sound of Albo's voice, looks like I'm voting informal again

You mean that partisan post that implied Albanese doesn't care about the unemployed and the ABC doesn't deserve to be properly funded?

If it was a joke, just say so mate. Always up for a laugh.

Much food for thought here in this article by Dr John Hewson.

None of these people ever suggest an idea or a thought on what to do

just that action should be taken, people should prepare, encourage solutions

John Hewson another former member for the seat of Wentworth with their finger on the pulse.
The use of the Dr in front of his name for a COVID 19 article is misleading. He’s not a medical practitioner but an economist so you can’t expect any solutions. He has no more of an idea than us.

If someone assumes he’s a medical doctor, and that medical doctors are the ones to consult on economic questions, it’s an absolute miracle they even found their way to the Big Footy site on the whole world wide web.

I have to applaud Sweden facing constant backlash to close up the country but once its over they will have lifes, jobs and money.
When I read things like this it makes me feel like people are trying to justify which part of our population are useful.

The ones that have jobs & money vs the older, the homeless and the sick.

Maybe that's not your intent, it's probably not. But think about the people who are helpless in a nurse home, the people already living below the poverty line by a govt who thinks Newstart is actually something that people can live off.The people most vulnerable.

The article wasn’t claiming to provide solutions, but did you miss the bit where he said “How we can meet these risks is outlined in our new report, released today”, with a link to the report?

This is why Michael Burry is such a unique commentator on this topic. He's a former Stanford pathology doctor who is an exceptional economic analyst

He's stopped tweeting sadly, his last post was on 15 April and he left the following message on his profile:

"had my say, thank you Twitter, be back next time"

His tweets are still public, so you can still read them. I guess he had better things to do, which is fair enough.

The article was average not exactly food for thought.

Read up some of his responses and it’s the usual diatribe BS of the restrictions being more damaging than the disease. He is a funds manager who was a doctor who studied some economic subjects in University all of which makes him dangerous in his opinions and NOT well informed. At least I completed my commerce degree which had a stream of economic subjects so thanks Michael but I’ll stick to what I know. He also heavily advocated use of hydroxycloroquine as treatment being highly critical as to why it hasn’t been widely used. The answer is that the disease creates a prolonged q-t interval in heart rhythm as it attacks the cardiovascular system and hydroxycloroquine extends that interval even further as it’s inherent effect to the point of attending medical professionals being uncomfortable with the dangers. It clearly works because it stamps out the Cytokline storm to prevent ARDS but it isn’t the panacea here for its risks or so the informed medical opinion asserts. Here in AUST it has been limited to a clinical study as considered position but otherwise denied use other than extreme compassionate use which is informative IMO. It’s a risk they’re none too keen to take. Haven’t checked but wouldn’t be surprised if the drug is not advocated to those with heart disease troubles in its normal pattern of use and covid 19 attacks those most vulnerable exactly that category.
