I'm so surprised at how happy everyone is about this. Clearly I'm out of step, my last drink might have to be with Sam Newman after this ridiculous joke of a decision.

Surely there's more to it than 3 guys leaving their hotel room ?

Did CFC really ban anyone leaving?
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's all I've heard.
If so, that is pathetic, Saturday night after a game players should be able to enjoy their win with some more realistic bans in place.

It appears we're the new sucks of the AFL, not a place I'm comfortable with. Lets hear the "real" reason, surely they went over curfew or something ? The players put this ban in place ? With no persuasion ? turn it up, I don't believe this for a second on the information we've received. Why doesn't MM come clean and own up ? Again, can anyone tell me why a grown up man can't leave his hotel room after a game when the next one is six days away?

and has MM changed his mind ? no, just on Davis. I recall him saying it may be different if they (the offenders of team rules) were first gamers. So where has he been a hypocrite ? Davis I'm guessing ?and hasn't he been a protected 100 + player. Time he wasn't treated like a junior!! Make him own up and front up, leaving him out of the side next week doesn't do this, MM is resting him.

Why the public humiliation I'm not sure.

Edit: btw I think there's two reasons why Leon has been delisted (from MM's honest reasonings the year before).

1. Round 7 and we're playing Carlton - where is the stand up and be counted for a win ?
2. He can hardly make an example of the 2 others and not display his disgust when the above is 'reality'. Therefore Leon can't make a statement and an honest man of himself because he knows he will just be another passenger if/when CFC beat Collingwood. Leon, you're still a junior despite your games....
No one was banned. It was a team rule, therefore the team, including suspended players, agreed on it. Therefore when they then broke their own rule they left themselves open to team sanctions. Probably not really our place to do a 'Hicksy' and turn them into victims, when we don't even know what really happened. If this was a team decision by the leadership group, then MM would have had zip to do with it. If MM did have something to do with it, so what. CFC payed for them to go to Adelaide and work for the club playing footy, and are quite entitled to ask them to remain on the premises. Maybe it was for insurance purposes? It was a footy trip, not a human rights breach, and on previous form do you actually blame the club? Last year they delisted Tarrant for his misadventures, what is fairer, miss one match, or be banished to Freo because some idiot had a crack?:)
