Would prefer to go after Simmonds, Jolly, Jamar or even Hille. Cox is only barely more mobile and effective around the ground than Knoble is, which isn't much.

I'd offer very little for Cox, huge possibility he wouldn't work out at St Kilda. Prepared to be proven wrong, though.

Heath Black to Fremantle and Troy Simmonds to St Kilda and a 2nd round draft pick

Or
Although Black wants to go to Freo, why not just send him to West Coast if they would rather Cox, who cares what he wants if he was to dog us, we might as well get something out of it

yeah, i think dean cox is a very good player. He can push foward to kick a goal. He got 3rd in West Coastsa Best and Fairest Award. He could leave because think about this...
Gardiner their number 1 ruckman and vice- captain not going to leave.
Cox is back up to Gardiner and is established enough now that he could be first ruckman in most sides.
Seaby is 20 and a good ruckman and tall foward
Beeck is only 19 and will be very good.

You never know.

Please...... Our assistant coach (rather stupidly) declared that Michael Gardiner would struggle to crack a game with the form Cox was in this year. To compare him with Jolly / Jamar is just an insult. It's irrelevant anyway, he won't be traded.

theres rumors the either cox or gardiner will be traded and im not joking. There are other threads saying that aswell.

Those rumours aren't from very reliable sources.

I highly doubt West Coast would be stupid enough to trade Gardiner, Cox or Seaby for that matter.

Gardiner could find himself at CHF next season effectively making Cox and Seaby their number one and two ruckmen.

You will have more of a chance getting one of Brad Ottens, Troy Simmonds and Darren Jolly.

what about if west coast get nathan thompson at centre half foward, seaby in the foward pocket, mcdougall full foward, matera foward pocket, sampi, foward flank. Where would gardiner go?
Sit on the bench? I dont think he would like that, while cox is starting every quarter and gardiner maybe coming on for the last 5 minutes of every quarter. They will both want to be number 1 ruckmen at West Coast. But 2 cant fit into 1. Gardiner or Cox will be traded, for a very good draft pick, and a quality player. Or there could be a three way deal.
Gradiner or Cox to Saints
Hay and Thompson to West Coast
Pick 16, Leigh Montagna and Troy Schwarze to Hawthorn

Nathan Thompson looks like he's staying at Hawthorn so you can forget about that idea.

You will not get Gardiner or Cox - West Coast are not going to trade away one of their strengths.

Why are you going onto every board and saying that West Coast are going to trade Cox or Gardiner? Do you have a personal vendetta against them or something. In your hypothetical forward line up we have Thompson at CHF (who I doubt we will get) Cox in the ruck and Seaby in a pocket leaving Gardiner on the bench. If we did have Thompson playing at CHF and not Gardiner then Gardy would without doubt play in a pocket, pinch hitting in the ruck in the forward 50. Seaby would play off the bench as Gardiner would be ahead of him. However I dont see this as being a problem because I am pretty sure that Gardiner will play CHF next year as he still has the "passion" to play football and I doubt we'd trade aggresivley for somone who doesnt.

Narr, no personal vendetta im just seeing what other people think of it.

u could have possibly got cox last year but after the year he has just had you have no hope.

dont even think about comparing him to knobel. insulting.

good luck. He has re-signed. Plus with gardiner's stuffed knee, he will be our number 1 ruckman for next fews years. We would want someone damn good if it was too happen. We'll take luke ball, and goddard thanx

I would love him at the Saints.

We have as much chance as getting him as Judd though.

Why on earth would WC give him up? Why would we give up what it would take to get WC interested? It just aint going to happen.

not having a go at anyone but u would seriously need to come up with something special, and a player that is young and proven to convince the eagles to part with this bloke

WCE don't even know whether they'll even get gardiner back out on the park at all - at CHF, FF, FP in the ruck or even on the bloody bench.

Cox would be almost as off-limits as Judd.

Time and time again, you prove that you only watch St Kilda and wing it on the rest...

Ridiculous and untrue. Maybe I'm more up on my St Kilda knowledge than I am with West Coast, but can you seriously blame me for that?

Taking a greater interest in my team over the others is suddenly a crime.

Dreaming. Throw in Judd and pay his salary, and we'll consider it.

We had a go at luring him across last season and after the season he had we were probably justified in trying.

He isn't available and I wouldn't think the Eagles would be entertaining any offers for him so our best bet is to try and make a play for one of the out of contract or unsettled ruckmen.

The next week will be very interesting.

Perhaps, but Cox picked up over double the amount of the footy Knobel did, and got 50 odd more hitouts in 1 less game during 2004.

He finished 3rd in our B&F and was considered one of the leagues big improvers, he's far superior to Trent Knobel.

Not that it matters, West Coast won't trade him, he's stated he's very happy and knows he's a vital member of the team.
