2 for 50ishLyon 13 wickets for the match... Fair effort!!
My timing sucks.Ouch.. .
22 wickets in 2 games... he is either "that good" or the wicket was "that bad"In the face of mounting evidence, I am in the process of revising my opinion on Lyon.
He looked absolutely world class this series. I've never felt that about him before, notwithstanding he has had good, even great, games over the journey. But he's clearly putting it all together now. Looked unplayable yesterday.
Because none of them are good enough. Why no Aussie leg spinner in Bangla Desh ?
Nathan Lyon was named man of the series alongside David Warner for his stellar efforts with the ball in Bangladesh.
Lyon was unstoppable in the series, which ended 1-1 with a win on Thursday, taking 3/79, 6/82, 7/94 and 6/60.
It all adds up to 22 wickets at an average of 14.32.
It's the best return ever in a two-match series by an Australian bowler, surpassing JJ Ferris, who took 18 wickets in a two-Test Ashes series.
Remarkably, that record had stood for 130 years.
Only one player has ever taken more wickets in a series that short: Rangana Herath, when he took 23 wickets against Pakistan in 2014.
Lyon's match figures in the second Test ended up at 13/154, the best return by any Australian in Asia and the second-best by any away bowler.
It all means Lyon has now gone past Richie Benaud and Jason Gillespie on the all time wickets list, with a grand total of 269 wickets across 69 Tests.
Next on the list for Lyon to overtake is Craig McDermott, who has 291 scalps to his name
Zampa and Swepson not good enough ?Because none of them are good enough.
Adam Zampa has a FC bowling average of 46 and strike rate of 68. And Swepson hasn't played a competitive game since January.Zampa and Swepson not good enough ?
