Lyon wouldn't have bowled us to victory in Adelaide or Hobart on the back of 3 extra wickets, that is insane... he was trying to rush through his overs so the real bowlers could take the wickets.

The whole concept of "needing" a spinner is absurd. The great West Indian teams didn't bother with a spinner. How many series did Viv Richards lose without having a spinner in his team? The answer to that is ZERO. He never lost a series as a captain.

We currently do not have a spinner who is good enough to make the team. We are playing one on the basis that traditionally we have played one, which imo is not playing to our strengths.

We have the best stable of fast bowlers in our history. Lets bloody well use them.

Cummins @ 16
Bird @ 16
Pattinson @ 23 & 38 with the bat.
Harris @ 23
Starc @ 29 & 31 with the bat.
Siddle @ 28
Johnson @ 30 & 23 with the bat
Hazelwood
Richardson
Cutting
Hilfenhaus

Why we are bothering with a pox off spinner without a doosra astonishes me.
Our batting is the problem.
Other than Clarke I have no confidence in any other batter.

Yeah he had a helmet on..he needed one ! he only took a bat out for decoration

Cairns was a handy bowler..but probably only a touch quicker than Hussey..thats what made it ridiculous. I can understand the intimidation rule when tailenders didnt wear helmets. You only have to see the footage of Ewan Chatfield getting sconned by the poms and literally dying on the pitch before getting revived to understand why
I think so called fast bowlers allow the term to go to their heads. A prime example was Dominic Cork. I don't think he ever got above 130k's but he'd try all the standover shit. It got to the point where he was over doing it in terms of trying to get extra bounce and pace and in the end the batsmen were just laughing at him.

All out for 74. The f*** is this?
They were lucky to get to that. Everytime a loss like this happens the same question get's asked but on this occasion it's relevant. Maybe now they'll forget the bullshit and implement a strategy the at least looks towards producing a few good one day batsmen. It's not fair to them, to keep relying on the bowlers to keep getting them out of trouble in ODI's.

It would have been better if 9/40 had become all out for 40, rather than the last two putting on 34 and papering over the cracks a little bit. The selection policy at the moment is complete and utter tripe. Either that or we are deliberately trying to kill 50 over cricket.

Holy shit, how are today's kids going to grow up idolising players like they used to when these guys only play half the time? I don't get it.

FFS, just pick a f***** team and stick with it.

Pick the test side and the 3-5 other players who are in contention.

Pick the one day side and the 3-8 other players who are in contention.

Those players who are serious about those formats should play less twenty20 so their bodies can hold up to the rigours of international cricket. The rotational policy is a farce.

Bailey's having a good match. Golden duck and a dropped catch so far.

As a professional cricketer how do you not know that if you don't attempt a shot you are going to be giving out LBW almost every time.

Whoever came up with the rotation policy needs to be castrated.
Good point, but it would be letting them off easily. I would add one rotation per selector for every player that has been "rested" over the last two games. That type of rotation would surely provide some discomfort. Dave Warner has the strongest wrists. Given the circumstances he would be glad to provide the rotation.

Those ridiculous outs to Warner and Henriques have put us so far behind the eightball that we basically have about a 10% chance of winning unless we get some favourable calls our way in return.
