Rivers. What he does do, he does well.

Croad has always been an inbetween, CHB or CHF? Not really either. Plus it's a bit unfair to be comparing Rivers to a guy that's four years his senior.

Croad would be much more suited at chf, he usually kicks something like 4 goals and 11 points when hes half forward, but due to hawks backline, hes not going to be playing forward for a loong time

Geez a possessionless AA, well thats a first.

I guess you dont remember when he kicked 4 or 5 goals against your mob when moved to the forward line.

He won the match of his own boot and was best on ground.

Croad when settled in a position is a great player, Quick, long kick, better mark more damaging and more versatile, trouble is Hawthorn has needed him in both parts of the ground and hasn't been able to settle into the position which is best suited to him which is CHB, the last time he played majority of the season at CHB he won a AA selection eventhough playing the last 5 or 6 weeks in the forward line.

Rivers was vital in our backline this year, he didnt have to take on half the workload he did in his first year, as it was more evenly spread. He played good football for us this year.

Half true.

Had a disgraceful 2005 with injury and a stupid suspension against Hawthorn.

But 2006 was just as good as 2004.

Powell is right, Rivers's 2006 was just as good as 2004 but wasn't highlighted as much. Should improve now hopefully. Croad is a better allround player as he, like someone has said, has more strings to his bow. However, Rivers is a better CHB and has been in the system less than half the time Croad has so it's not really a fair comparison.

Croad getting last years AA CHB spot would suggest what he does, he does well too.

Croad has always been an inbetween, CHB or CHF? Not really either. .

His versatility is a huge positive, not a negative. Can be played as a genuine CHB or CHF, but by virtue of being the only genuine KPP at Hawthorn the last couple of years, he's been forced to chop and change, and play wherever he's needed on the day. That hasn't eroded his value in either of those positions though.

Plus it's a bit unfair to be comparing Rivers to a guy that's four years his senior.

Agreed, Croad has had 9 years in the system. Rivers is a great young player, and I'd love him at Hawthorn, but it is an unfair comparison.
