Read an article yesterday that says a KPMG independent review of the board had reccomended the board be reduced to 7 to 9 with UP to 2 member representatives. The board has now been reduced to 7 and there will be no member represnetative in 2014. We apparantly are getting a new constitution or in fact may already have one.

I guess there was no consultation with members. Par for the course. When is the members meeting this year? I don't recall being told about that yet.

I have no issue reducing the board members from 9 to 7 as a better number to run effectively.

Whether the members get proper representation is completely another matter!

The AFC sent out a letter recently outlining these changes, the most concerning thing in there was that the 2 "member representative" board members for 2014 are the 2 current Board members whose term expires next year as the AFC thought it would be easier than going to a member election. Effectively the member reps are chosen by the board...transparency the AFC way!!!

Without Triggy's shrewd financial manoeuvring it would have been far worse. Imagine if we'd paid our full salary cap for instance? Or landed our recruiting targets? Could have been a real disaster.

So how many member reps will ultimately be on this board of 7? Will it stay at 2? (if/when they actually allow 2)

You are correct however it seems to me that they will go wiht 7 so as not to have ot have members reps. Its pitiful. The old argument that why do you need reps when the board is doing such a good job is clearly no longer valid (it never was in fact).

What the hell would a bunch of accountants know about the proper Board composition of a football club?

How much did the AFC pay to receive their tomes of wisdom? w***ers!
