I'm not actually sure what other teams do, I dont take notice.
But I am damn sure if theres a team in the league where the crowd wont get around this kind of initiative its our supporters.

Yep. A huge problem for this kind thing is the wide expanse of traditional Australian footy (cricket) ovals. Much of what happens is on a distant horizon! The gentility of cricket has also been passed down through the years and continues in those wide open spaces. There is nothing worse than a small chant section slowly decaying away to silence. It is not part of our sporting culture because of the open space scale of most of the 'stadiums'.
I'm all for orchestrated initiatives but they must be done at the proper scale. I think even Meatloaf would agree to this.

I dno, all he ever seems to say is "I wont do that".

I actually like the towels idea, but know full well that less than 1/4 of our fans will actually participate.

The sad thing is, even though I hate them, port fans would get around it.

Ok, is it just me?
I saw online, the full page photo of Sarah Perkins, with the huge headline "The joy of Tex"

The advertiser -- all the lamebrains who come up with these headlines -- have had years and years to use that same corny line to use for Taylor Walker, but choose to do so when the 'Tex' now refers to a female footballer.

Now for the really young ones in here, the headline is a play on words for the title of a book 'The Joy of Sex', which at the time was very controversial when it was published in the very early 1970's. It's a title that still evokes titillation and controversy among many folks who had to suffer through those god awful 70's.

Isn't it just a tad tasteless to wheel it out now, for a female footballer?

I've seen it used for Tex Walker in the past. I still cringed a bit when I saw it though.

That's our media. High values.

OK, I have a confession to make. I have never purchased a ticket for the footy in my life so I would like some advice from those that have please.

I promised to take my 70 year old Crows supporting Mother inlaw to a game of her choice this year, she decided a Showdown was the go and would prefer the round 3 Showdown (Club Teals home game), I wont say why she said she would prefer round 3..the silly old chook.

I have had a look at the Ticketek site and the only available GA seats are up in the nosebleed section or on the hill. I am not sure I can confidently get her up to the nosedbleed section without tempting fate (not as good on her feet as she once was). There is no way I can take her to the hill these days.

All other options that dont require a pack horse only have single seats available?? Would this be correct, it is a Club Teal home game after all :)

Are there any other ticketing options I can explore before investigating the cost of a pack horse to get her up the steps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are escalators and elevators for the infirm heading to the nosebleeds.

Apologies if this has been referred to in another thread

Very interesting (if short) interview with John Reid on AA. Touched on each of the main highs and lows. Would be very interested to hear his true opinion on the Tippet saga, which he referred to

Despite Tippet I've got a lot of time for him. It's blokes like him that build success at a club from the ground up
