I know your joking, but it does show how innocuous the left is.

I think anyone in politics is probably fine, except maybe Pauline Hanson and those more extreme than her.

Most media is fine, even if I'd be personally uncomfortable with someone like Andrew Bolt.

Innocuous to those of the left...FitzSimmons especially is a full on arseh*le.

You see that’s your political perspective, yes mostly joking but I find some of those grubby and if Crows players were promoting them that would put me off.

the fact you think that any ABC presenter and The Project are 'left' really shows where you sit, Elite

Project is a shill for industry - constantly runs anti-union puff pieces and has quoted IPA press releases verbatim as story fodder - totally radical left stuff there

C'mon, all the stuff around Elliot Page was completely unnecessary. He did that just to be a dick, and burst into tears when he was temporarily banned on twitter for it.

I'm not sure what freedom of speech at Uni if Toronto had to do with his refusal to use the names of people who had transitioned.

I haven't followed him in recent times but yes it seems he's picked some odd unnecessary fights lately. Elliot Page and that plus-sized model. He is coming after the woke crowd instead of just defending himself.
My understanding was he was happy to use people's preferred pronouns but didn't want to be legally compelled to do so.

Nothing quite like a daily dose of Waleed to remind me that apparently I'm a racist purely because I'm a white Australian male.

Mostyn You keep pushing this team mate line. You're concerned it may cause disharmony within the group.

Ever thought that the players are adults capable of working with others with differing views?

I think you're so locked into this twitterspere world of outrage. You were peddling the same line there too. It's like you want this to happen.

In another thread, you said you didn't really care about this. At least be honest.

Do I think Jeremy Corbyn is too controversial for an AFL player to be photographed with?

No.

I do think Clementine Ford is pretty divisive though, so she probably qualifies.

I can tell you that Corbyn is plenty controversial for a lot of people, and a photograph with him would not go down well in Jewish circles. He was permanently excluded from the Labour Party today. Toxic old fool that he is

This is a man who was photographed laying a wreath at the funeral of the former leader of Black September, the terrorists behind the Munich Olympics murder and kidnapping

Corbyn was so antithetical to the Jewish people, that for the first time EVER the chief rabbi made a public intervention against a political figure ahead of the last election.

Except the majority of his books are innocuous.

Obvious question: have you read any?

This is the only thing worth unpacking.

A teammate who is gay MIGHT have a problem with ROB for so publicly promoting his agreement with Peterson. Frankly, there's a massive chance they would.

That then fosters team disharmony, potentially fracturing the club.

Completely avoidable - of course Peterson or anyone can expound their views and potentially monetize the interest in them. ROB can also believe whatever silly s**t he wants.

I'm less interested in a player wanting to publicly promote their support for someone who can be divisive towards the club.

Whoosh, wrong way round. When you give players the right to be outraged, where does it stop?

Does that player have a right to be outraged by a gay player or a Muslim? What about a Jewish teammate

Indeed. Whatever happened to "inclusiveness"?

They do run some typical left story pieces to hit their target demographic, it is designed to get left-leaning swing voters to vote more for the liberals

Which is a very reasonable position.

I think he's enjoyed the increased attention (and cashola) since becoming a chamption for the anti-woke brigade, and I probably think that's understandable too.

Not whoosh - I gave you the benefit of the doubt because your point of view could either be taken intelligently - or how you meant it. ;)

Does a player have the right to be outraged by someone's sexuality or race? No - because that makes them prejudiced.

Does a player who IS LGBT have the right to be outraged by someone who is prejudiced against them, like Andrew Thorburn's church or Jordan Peterson? Yeah, probably. That seems far more fair to me, and I said the same thing around the Essendon CEO controversy.

Well clearly their FANS are not capable of respecting others views.... just sayin'.

I suspected that's what you meant....drawing a long bow there.

So they take IPA press releases and report on them as stories because they're trying to make people radical leftists, yeh?

wake up - they are a shill for industry - don't care about where they stand on identity politics stuff, ultimately they are mouthpieces for conservative govts and thinktanks
