I took the Kayo membership last year ......cancelled it today

Reasons:
1. The package price increased from $259 to $350 per annum (35% increase)
2. The rationale provided by the membership Dept was that Kayo was increasing prices ....wrong ! the basic package remains the same price, only the premium (4K) is increasing to $40 per month
3. The Crows / Kayo package is SD resolution
4. In the email I received, it stated if I did not renew, my subscription would transfer to hubble at the standard rate
Given this obviously refers to a non-related package, it was erroneous to include the statement in the email

So, given I only watch Kayo for 7 months of the footy season ....I'll simply take the 4K Premium package, and save myself $70 pa

Point (3) is wrong I think WW.

BASIC package is the 4k package. That’s what you get with the AFL digital memberships.

The SD package is called “One” because you can only use it on one device. Terrible naming decisions imo.

RRP from Kayo is $40 per month - $480 per year.

You also get a $20 voucher for The Crows Shop with your membership.

But yes, if you only watch the AFL from March to end of September (I like getting the preseason games myself) AND don’t want to see any AFL replays over the off season (I’ve worn a hole in the Carlton and Essendon games at Marvel) AND don’t watch other sport on Kayo AND don’t want the voucher AND don’t want to support the club directly through a membership … yep, pay-as-you-go probably makes more sense.

They’re finally changing the names of the packages with the 2 screen 4K package now called Kayo Premium and Kayo One is now called Kayo Basic and it’s not in SD it’s always been HD, that’s staying at $25 the 4K one is the one that’s going up from $35 to $40 which is just ridiculous.

Tried the 4K package last year and it was horrible even with high end wifi that has no issues streaming anything else at 4K it buffered like crazy and had to watch it on the live channel HD anyway.

If you already have Kayo you can always go to cancel it in hubbl and they usually offer you $10 off for 5/6 months.

Foxtel/foxtel go is worth every cent for me.
Watching it at home on the box and being able to watch it away on my phone/ipad/cromcast or straight to the tv is awesome.
Agree but did you get the email the other day?
Our subscription is going up $2 as of March.

Nah I didn’t see it, what isn’t going up these days?
I was more concerned my solar feed in is going from 8c to 4c 😡

We're still on a $49/mth all channel special for 2 years (from memory). Not as good as the glitch that gave it to us free for a couple of years though.

I’m on $93 so must be paying for your free years 😂

With everything else available, we don't watch it much outside of AFL season. Will have to think about it, ut ince you're payin $40/mth, might as well get the full package.
I use it for f1 and cricket aswell.

No issues streaming the 4K for me (through AppleTV 4K, fibre-to-the-premises connection) and I don't think $350 per year is too much to pay for something I use basically every day.

Pardon the intrusion, I wasn't really sure where to put this one.

AFL Gather Round, Thursday night opener sees our two clubs face off. According to Ticketek, "all public seating allocation has been exhausted."

I was going to go with a few friends from interstate, and then my mind was blown to see - not that tickets were sold out as that was expected - but the fact that they already went on sale.

Normally, tickets go on sale to the public two or three weeks ahead of the game. We're two months away and they have already been on sale?

Does Gather Round tickets go on sale much earlier than regular season tickets? I'm guessing so, as to accommodate mass logistical efforts for people and venues?

Thanks.

Member pre-sale started back on 9th December. So yep, really early.

FWIW, As a Vic based Crows supporter I don’t bother with Gather Round. Accom and flights easily triple and can’t get into half the nice restaurants etc. But I can see the appeal of getting amongst the festival type setting.
