I love how we lose to the form side by ten points at their home ground and everything about our team is absolutely spuddish lol.

We’re fumbled and turned the ball over at critical moments , we can’t hope to win big finals unless we win those sort of plays.

Once again nicks made dumb tactical choices

We can just watch the team and players continue to fail in the same way, but it's all good as long as you get close to winning.
No but blaming nicks because players make skill errors kicking oof is on the player not the coach we had 4 shots on goal that we should of kicked and missed them all

Have said this for years, we need a team psychologist and if we have one already, we need to get someone else in. Too much going in between the head
Some years ago we once tried this stuff with an away camp to deal with mental toughness. The club itself couldn’t handle it, let alone the players……and Nicks has nothing in his coaching armoury.

He certainly wasn't the reason we lost (that was our goal kicking), though if Milera is playing in the A's again this year we are cooked.
I'm sure he's a top fella and all that , though his injuries have left him mentally scarred.
He was never hard at the ball , his skill was his was ability to weave through traffic, now he's to scared to get anywhere near a contest to get hold of the pill.
Time to give someone else a crack.. I'd be surprised if we ever see Izak put 2 out on the full from simple shots + a tougher one he would have at least scored.
I'd be raining the Adelaide Oval sprinklers on our forwards next week and dousing the ball in some P.Diddy strength baby oil to get them accustomed to other states wet decks.
This one was on the forwards.

P Diddy strength baby oil 😂😂🤣

We’re just not clean with enough with our hands .

Even in that late play before Collingwoods last behind. Butts had the ball with multiple teammates around him but just fumbled the handball and Elliot stole it because his hands were cleaner.
Butts is not a fullback defender. He is just not anywhere near a confidence builder.

Not only that, we do these "oh we tried" late charges every time.
Helps our percentage that's all, Either finish 7 th or 8th get knocked out 1st week, or 5th or 6th win at home then get knocked out week 2. Either way we're not a serious team.

Had the perfect chance to stand up today with N Daicos hampered and Moore out.
Not a chance in hell doing it there in September.

If we beat a form team at their home ground every now and then it wouldn't be a problem, The problem is we continually fail to do so. Ya can't get better if ya continue to lose the big test games

We just dont have the mental strength to win those games. Being at the G today, you just knew when we missed those goals the Pies would finish all over us. I actually dont blame Nicks btw - that was all on the players not taking their opportunities. I do blame Nicks for selecting Tex..it was as clear as day we needed Berry to play the fully game in the conditions..also should have brought in either Bond or Edwards…

Milera’s defensive efforts just aren’t where they need to be. I think it’s worth giving Bond another go and freeing up Max to be a bit more of an offensive threat.

Nah, the last five years have been about getting close. You have to start expecting to win eventually.

It was ten points but we never really looked like winning. We will never know but even if we kicked those goals in the 3rd I felt like they would overrun us

Unable to watch the game, just the highlights, from the impression I get is we were never really in it, just Collingwood kept us in it and we were able to capitalize. I could be wrong but it certainly didnt look like the scores should be as close as they got. But the question is was it a bad loss, where we far away?

We are not a premiership contender as we have a poor record against the best teams.

Our main disadvantage is our coach as he is incapable of matching it with the best coaches.

That's not how I saw the game. To me it was a real arm wrestle for the first half, we matched them blow for blow. Then in the second half when they started to pull away, we had several chances to get back into it and unfortunately missed five or six really kickable set shots. Rankine twice kicked it OOF from 45m out, Curtin missed from 25m out straight in front, Rachele missed from in front, Keays failed to make the distance trying a checkside from the pocket and also burned Dawson alone in the goal square to kick a point.

We played well enough to win that match if we could have finished off our work.

If nuts and candy nuts. We struggled to stay in the game and were lucky we didn't lose by more than we did. Collingwood were in control of that game for the most part.

I disagree. We owned territory in the Q1 but struggled to score, Collingwood owned territory in Q2 but struggled to score. Q3 was a mostly a stalemate with both teams squandering their opportunities. Over the course of the match we controlled the stoppages, and Collingwood countered from defence. There was nothing in it all the way until shortly before 3QT.

It was the last few minutes of Q3 and the first half of Q4 where Collingwood got away from us, and if you look at the match worm you see a repeating pattern of "Collingwood goal, Adelaide behind", about three times in a row. If we nail those goals (and all of them were very gettable) then scores are practically level with ten minutes to go, and who knows from there?
