Depends on the contact, that video doesn't even show anything. If there's any malicious push then he cops the week. It sort of looks as though he makes contact in way of confirmation, or even just incidental contact.

Didn't look like there was anything in it durimg the game.

Good to see some sense from a neutral supporter. It's not just the contact made but the context that's important here.

Hawkins slapping the umpires hand away deliberately was CLEARLY worse.
HOWEVER... cant do what Curnow did either, 1 week...

stop touching the umpire! its not that bloody hard...

The rules say that any intentional contact = they HAVE to be cited. But the Curnow one looks more like the umpire gets way too close to the player and there's no reason for the umpire to be that close from the vision we're given (like he's not intervening while the player is fighting or something). So I would hope it's an example of unavoidable contact and gets off. I can see why the MRP would see it as a fine and / or suspension. But this is really something that should be OK to happen because the contact occurs due to the umpire getting too close, not because Curnow decides to approach the umpire. Slap on the wrist for touching the ump, MRP going to discuss it, but should get off.

It's hard to tell because the video comes in late. Looks like the umpire is way to close and he kind of waves him off, but also possible he 'pushes' him off. Will get a week given Hawkins

What makes this even more ridiculous is 3 seconds later Stringer? comes in and flattens Curnow with a hip and shoulder. Really? That's legal? At a dead ball situation? So you can be knocked to the ground by a bump 100 metres away from the ball withouy but placing a hand casually on the chest of an umpire to wave him away is a week suspension?

We seriously hav3 the world's dumbest rules in our sport

Gone Gone Gone.

2 weeks offered by the Tribunal and down to one week for a guilty plea.

Tom Hawkins blue print not even a week old.

Easy peasy.

GO Catters

Will not be surprised either way. One week off or nothing.
Just do not touch them. Not that hard if you walking upright and not in motion of play.

May is gone for sure though. Way worse than Hawkins. 2 or 3 weeks

I still think shit like this should be a fine, but will be interested to see how the MRO justifies their decision.
