I'd be livid with any deal that involved Higgins. The guy has been a huge disappointment to date and has now fractured his navicular. The guy may never play again let alone improve/fulfil his potential.

DO.NOT.WANT.
Yep no doubt lol

didn't know that . Poor bloke

Crameri wont be going anywhere. Why would someone like Crameri leave a club set to play finals to a club set to finish bottom four for the next couple of seasons?

Ablett you say? Well at the time his father lived up there, he was given the captaincy and massive $$ to move.

If Crameri goes to Doggies, I'll leave bigfooty forever. No chance in hell.

Ablett also had 2 premierships, a Brownlow medal, and an assortment of other awards.

I don't think he will leave either but to say we will be bottom 4 in another 2 years youi have no idea :D

I think you'll need more than 2 years personally, 3-4 atleast before becoming a team pushing for the 8 again. The drafting to do with forward line has been appauling to date (bar Dahlhaus). Players like Cordy, Jones and Grant have been under-whelming to say the least.

Cordy has been horrible everytime I have seen him and I haven't seen a glimpse of something that would suggest he could become something resembling a solid player. Jones isn't much better, he is absolutely stuffed after 1 lead, he must get about 6 on the beep test.

You have some really talented youngsters that will develop into good players but you need a lot more work and solid drafting for the next 2 years before you start making your way from the bottom. We've all been where you guys are and it is horrible but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Don't worry about trading with the Dogs. Instead send Bellchambers, Hooker and Crameri to GWS for Pick #1 Tom Boyd.

Daniher and Ryder interchangeable ruck / forwards with Boyd your stay at home forward and Gumby doing the Riewoldt-esque up and back work. Perfect forward line and allows for extra runners on the bench as you don't play a clear 2nd ruckman.

Hurley goes back with Carlisle and Pears and then Hooker's loss is also covered.

Crameri simply not good enough to play in that side.

So we trade our leading goalkicker for the past 3 seasons, the best intercept marker in the AFL and a ruckman who's every chance of being first choice at the end of the season for a bloke who might not even play football next year...

Bellchambers plus our first round pick should be enough for Pick 1 anyway. Besides, I would rather Hooker to Pears

1) Leading goal kicker by default.
2) Best intercept mark because he doesn't play on anyone. Better with Hurley, Carlisle and Pears down there.
3) Bellchambers and Ryder are both better having majority of the workload. Ryder is better, so Bellchambers is wasted. Use Boy, Daniher and Gumbleton as ruck pinch hitters and your forward line is better, your ruck is better and you have more run on the bench.
4) Would prefer to keep our first round pick for Jack Billings to fill our small forward role
5) Pears is a significantly better defender, ball user and can play on smalls and talls (when compared to Hooker).

1. Averages more goals/game than anybody else in the side
2. I suggest you watch games. He's beaten Jenkins, Sellar, Maister, Lynch, Cameron when moved on him, Lisle, Vickery, Pyke/Mumford, Casboult, Gorringe and Cox/Naitanui/Kennedy so far this year. He's just smart at reading the play and knows when to peel off his man
3. One good point. Well done. How would you deal with the lack of depth in the ruck stocks?
4. Billings is a chance to go top 10. Won't last to our first pick.
5. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh wait, you were serious. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

1) The only forward that's played enough games to kick said goals. Defensively useless, selfish and can get the yips. Remember, there's a reason he was rookie drafted as a half back flanker.
2) The only decent forwards you've mentioned there are Cameron and Kennedy. They are also the only forwards in that list that draw the football, suggesting that the others are easier to 'peel off'. And I would argue Cameron kicked more on Hooker than Pears, and Kennedy was fatigued by the time Carlisle went forward.
3) Cheers - I would draft in Sikora from the VFL side and draft a young ruckman this year with about pick 60 (Darcy Cameron)
4) Billings has been a slider. Many tipsters are now suggesting pick 11 - 14. I'm more hopeful than confident. But best to keep high draft picks none the less.
5) I'm surprised you were shocked by the last point. Is all valid. Look up any statistical category that proves those points. Watch any game with an eye on how Hooker and Pears play.

Hypothetical, we trade TBC away and then Ryder goes down with a season ending injury. (Hille has retired)

Joe D is too young to bear the ruckwork full time and Gumby is not a ruck.

Good points. I'd try and keep Hille for one more. If not Sikora and Cameron need to step up in Ryder's absence (point 3)

1. He's also been the leading goalkicker for a reason. I'm not his biggest fan, but really. We wouldn't be that stupid.
2. I forgot to add Pods/Taylor. But he doesn't play on a man does he? Cameron kicked 4 on Pears in 1.5 quarters and 2 on Hooker in 2.5 quarters. Kennedy was well beaten by Hooker.
3. Yoda_ has raised issues about Sikora, he's a bit on the lumbering side. Can't comment on Cameron
4. I doubt Billings will fall to pick 15-16. Fills a need at several clubs below us
5. How about the fact that Pears, despite playing 4 sides that are average at best, has conceded 8 goals, whereas Hooker has conceded 11 goals in his 13 games. And the fact that Hooker's DE this season is 81.5% suggests that his disposal isn't a liability anymore. I think you need to watch more games, because I can't fathom how you could think that Pears is equal, let alone better, at defending than Hooker

Need to draft some state league rucks or trade for some back up.
Think about other teams currently and they are pretty much in the same situation.

Interesting points. We can agree to disagree on them. My potential starting 22 next year, if trades and drafting went as planned, would look like:

FF: J.Daniher T.Boyd W.Rioli
HF: D.Garlett S.Gumbleton J.Billings
C: B.Goddard J.Watson D.Zaharakis
R: H.Hocking P.Ryder D.Heppell
HB: J.Ashby M.Hurley C.Dempsey
FB: M.Hibberd J.Carlisle T.Pears
INTER: J.Winderlich D.Myers J.Melksham
SUB: E.Kavanagh

We are entering a window. Not re-building.

We're closing into our "premiership window" and we have 5 blokes who haven't played senior footy midway through the previous year in our first 22, and another who's played 3 games in his career?

We are entering a window. Not re-building.

All of Boyd, Rioli, Garlett and Billings add to that window, making the side more balanced, talented and generally better. Their youth also extends the window. With only Watson and Goddard 29 or over, the window is open for a long time.

Crameri and Hooker are blockers for potentially better players in their role, and Bellchambers, whilst a good footballer, needs to be let go in order to obtain Boyd (who is much better and forms the best one two punch up front in the league - with Daniher). They are effectively, inhibitors to the window
