We are missing a heap, at least 12 definite seniors and probably 24 across the club, not just injury but a heap unavialible for various reasons.

You should definitely underestimate us Waz we will really be struggling ; )

Would never undersetimate Albert Park. Great club and regardless of form they always turn up to play!

Eltham over UHS -VU - 24 points
St Marys over BHN - 16 points
Syndal over Eley Park - 4 points
Bulleen over Mt Lyl - 20 points
South over North Brunny by 50 points

J.Dwyer kicked 12 goals, StMarys win by 10 goals.

Funny how so many people thought it would be close.

Eltham had a good win over UHS and Albert Park fell over the line against Richmond.

Gut wrenching loss for the boys at Beaurepaire Pavillion... We dominated the second half but couldn't get the points on the board

Well done to Albert Park... This makes up for the close loss they suffered last week.

We can't wait to play them on the wide open spaces of KB reserve !!!

How were St Mary's BHN? Better than expected?

The reserves won 7 points.
And the Seniors got over the line by by 1.

I dont know about UHSVU, but it seems that places 3 though 11 are up for grabs this year.... it will be a very tight comp.

According to the VAFA website UHVU was in front at 3/4 time but didn't score in the last - Turtles kicked 7 ???? Bit odd any one see it - good game skill level etc?? St Mary's were ultra impressive.

No Nelly. Daz is much better but is being kept for a few more tests on Monday. A few of us went and saw him Saturday night and he was in high spirits. Expect a email soon.

Saw most of the game Saturday St Marys v BHN.

Tight game until half time, then St Marys booted well clear.

Onballers for St Marys dominated.

St Marys too good around the stoppages and were harder and more determined to win the footy.

BHN will bounce back though. Their height and strength will test most teams and I reckon they will be around the mark come finals time.

Was there something up with the full back? 12 goals from anybody is super impressive regardless of how good the supply is (and I imagine it was pretty good).

I can Imagine the delivery was excellent but 12 goals is still a great effort. If Dwyer can keep this kind of form St Mary's will be near unbeatable, and remember he didn't play against Eltham.

It was soooo close for The Cobras on the weekend against Mt Lilydale, soooo close. They will be better for it me thinks.

Was great to see Cookson back in the Cobra jumper on the weekend he was back to his best again with 4 goals and 30 touches, pity the boys couldnt get over the line in the end. Suppose it was always going to be difficult when you don't score in the last quarter to hold on.

One great thing thats happening at Cobra land is the their website gotta be the best going around in D4 boys get on and have a look:

With 'bonse's blog' going hammer and tong on all the goss on and off the field and chief D4 cameraman Theo Karanikos taking all the quality snaps makes for some great viewing. Whisper from the Pres is that big Theodore has been asked to take snaps for the local Jewish Bar Mitzvah, seems they just cant get enough of his quality imagery.

Disappointing not to see Glenno's (the Bulleen Goal Umpire for D4)not make it down to lilydale, rumor has it he may have consumed one or two many Vodka and pineapple UDL's the night before and missed the team the bus.

Looking foward to the Cobras social event this saturday night the quiz night should be a bang, all boys get down there for more info see the website and hope the boys can cause a major upset and knock off the eltham boys on the weekend.

It certainly seems that way... but there is a looong way to go. Who knows what will happen as it is amateur footy after all. Players go OS, get new jobs, get married etc.

I'm expecting half of BHN team to play for us in the second half of the season after they get a taste of playing at Punt Rd Oval in round 10 .

Do any other sides have any big out of the ordinary celebrations planned this season? Its our 20th anniversary... cant wait. Though I dont think I'll be getting a run somehow... Only got 3 touches against albert park and was only on the ground for a half. Obviously the reserves coach has a lot of faith in me

Keka, That train from the Saints is XPRESS through Box Hill. No contest. If wet may restrict scores but say Sainters by an easing up 9 goals.
Sth Mornington with a big win over Nth Brunswick, Eltham comfortably from UHS by 8 goals plus, Mt Lilydale with a well deserved 4 points from Bulleen, Albert Park to tame the Snakes by 30 points and Eley Park just a maybe against the Sinners.
Another 3 or 4 weeks and things will be taking shape. (other than the obvious 2)
