Who is the better player?

Thomas has just come off a finals series, where it can be argued, that only Hayes/Goddard had a better month than him.

Mike Sheehan has rated him at Number 9 in the Top 50. His 2 Grand Final performances were amazing.

Conversely, Murphy exploded on the scene but has fallen in output since. He's purely a midfielder, who struggles defensively.

It's a tough one isn't it. Thomas certainly had a far better season. I'll say Murphy, but I'm no expert.

Murphy's been more consistent throught his career in general, Daisy had a better year this year. I'd say Daisy has more potential but both are still stars in the making.

Murphy was stiff to miss out on AA last year. He missed most of the pre-season through surgery to his hip and only started to train fully mid way through the year.

Not taking anything away from Thomas, had a great year and an even better final series, but suggesting that "Murphy exploded on the scene but has fallen in output since", is just utter rubbish.

With a full pre-season behind him, we are all expecting Murphy to have a much much better year next year than this.

1 v 2 ( in the draft ) should be a close call.

Murphy has been far better over his career to date, but Thomas has closed the gap.

Thomas hasn't improved overnight because MS has him at #9 BTW.

Next year should be really good, both players at their peak fitness - hopefully Murphy gets over his grion niggles. Thomas this year wasn't much better then Murphy last year from memory, it's a tough call. Will be interesting to see which player can further improve next year.

I can't believe one would make such a comment after seeing Thomas dominate in September & in the GF's. I watched the replay for the 1st time tonight, WOW. You don't see various things being there.

Thomo's soccer goalie interception in the 3rd was just about the play of the year!

please i am not being byest but marc murphy is alot better footballer than thomas is now and will ever be he had a slow start to the year he had no pre season the little bloke is a jet not knocking daisy but not upto murph
