Anyone hear the report by one of the commentators during the game (Grybas?) that Pavlich as a 17 year old told Damian Drum that if he was drafted by Fremantle it would be his worst nightmare?

Pretty good nightmare!! 161 games later and counting..

It was in the Sunday times yesterday.

Have to appluade Drummy for taking Pav after such a comment.

Do you blame him?? Freo would hardly have been a choice destination back in those days. :o

He also asked them to try and arrange a trade back to Adelaide after the 2001 annus horriblus, which they didn't do. Then fortunately the tide started to turn in 2002 and he decided to stay when his contract came up for renewal. Remember the media hype and furore surrounding "Pav's Decision" back in 2002...

Hope he hurries and puts pen to paper sooner rather than later this time around, seeing he has already said he's staying... :thumbsu:

He should just be thankful we haven't delisted him after his game on the weekend. ;)

Maybe Pav's signature would be just the thing to get the boy's confidence up and get the team rolling. It would make me feel better anyway.

It's incredible that the club managed to talk him into signing a 3 year deal in 1999 considering he didn't want to be here. If he had signed up for the customary 2 he would have almost definately walked in 2001.

I got really nervous in 2002 when it became public that Pav was furious about Schwab making an announcement that he was close to signing when Pav was still making up his mind.

From memory the crows announced that they were going after Carey and Pav signed a week or two later, we're lucky the crows chose to pursue the wrong CHF.
