Horlin-Smith, you mean? GHS is slow in terms of leg speed and isn't the biggest-bodied mid going around. He's a smart footballer and is generally clean by hand and foot. He doesn't get as many possessions as you'd like for an inside mid, but I guess he still has time if you consider Matt Priddis didn't come on until his mid-20s.

Personally I think GHS's most suited position is as a medium-forward staying close to home. He's played forward pocket previously and has done very well. He can kick a clutch goal as good as anyone. He's no world beater, but IMO he's no spud, either.

I don't think Priddis is a great comparison as he racked up so many possessions and clearances in the WAFL he was admitted to Royal Perth Hospital with leather poisoning.

Priddis lacked pace, which he worked on, and he still isn't quick.

We have a few players of this type, I can't see the club looking at him for trade. I just think it's the classic SA connection, and the assumption that the only players willing to come to Adelaide were drafted from there....

Nope Murdoch. His fiancee just graduated from a BA, with LLB still to finish at Adelaide Uni. Screen Shot 2015-09-29 at 8.46.49 pm.png

Ah, there goes that theory. Alex would have just accused me of trolling, called me a port supporter in disguise, and said he was sick of this board. You do have a high-volume take-no-prisoners style that resembles alex_is_on_fire though.

I just want to be excited about going into next season and (no disrespect to Murdock) he doesn't give me that level of excitement.

If we get Bennell, we will have a genuine A grader as a replacement.

Cheers for the write up, but I did mean Murdoch- his fiancé studied law here and moved with him, so I assume she's an Adelaide Girl!

What's he like as a player? Sounds like he's a big unit but an outside player?

In my short time on this board, I have noticed a number of idiots post on this board. No offence to the sain people.
Okay, now I think you're alex again. :D

However, to take your comment at face value...Yes, you're right, there are a number of idiots. There are also many, many contributors who are insightful, footy wise, well connected, interestingly provocative, or sometimes just funny and entertaining. I find there's more than enough there to make butting heads with numbskulls an entirely optional activity.

I've posted for just over a week and in that week, I've been accused of being a troll, both a Port and Geelong plant, and now some guy named Alex.

However, I've read some very interesting comments from some people. Anything from the club accepting pick 9 and Murdock to accepting the compo pick and using that.

If you think I'm someone who used to post, that is your prerogative. But I'm not going to try and change your mind as life is too short to worry about other people perception of you.

I'm not saying he doesn't love Moggs Creek. Just beware that what he says and what he does are often completely different thing.
Not sure if you have ever heard as it may have only been a SA media statement but he once stated as a matter of fact that he would only ever move from The crows for onfield success.
He will change his word to suit him not your or my clubs.
And it's his right also to choose where he plays his career. Cannot begrudge the fella for that.
I live in Adelaide, so yes I am fully aware of what he has said in the media over the duration of his career. If Geelong had performed better than Adelaide this year, his fune wouldn't have changed. Perhaps going home is a more palatable reason for leaving than telling his team mates that he thinks they're not good enough.
