Kudos to Bigman, it was based on his preseason training reports that I put $10 on Dan to win the rising star. I owe him a beer.

I also put $50 on the Crows to finish top 4 at $8 which is looking across the line based on who we are playing over the final 3 rounds.

I think you'll find very few neutral supporters agreeing with you.

Reid has basically carried the West Coast midfield and gets tagged half the time. Whereas Curtain is like the 5th or 6th midfielder in the Crows, so he tends to get weaker opponents.

I'm not talking down Curtain at all. I think he's a gun and I'm very surprised at how he's developed from the start of this year to now. But Reid is also a very, very good player.

Curtin is a player who isnt even close to his ceiling. Add another 50 games, 2 Preseasons that increase size and endurance, then we will get a true idea of what we have. Which is scary, the kid is a gun now. The fact he is so far away from his best should frighten the opposition.

Reid is a player that aside from maturity is probably 90% at his ceiling. is a ready made star, will play that way for the next decade. No question. They arent the same type of player. Which makes for an interesting comparison that if Curtin is this good now, and not close to his best work then what are we going to see next year and the year after?

Just saw a clip from Curtin that will be on 7 news tomorrow night - be worth a watch I reckon

Post-bye I think there's a very reasonable argument. Coaches votes in 4 of 6 games, averaging over 20 disposals, a goal and a goal assist per game. Curtin pre-bye was promising but nowhere near that level and yeah overall for the year I'd have Reid ahead because of the responsibility he's got. But if we're talking about the second half of the year or forecasting for 2026 Curtin would be right in the mix for anyone who actually watches both.
 
Hopefully the debacle of [PLAYERCARD]Lewis Taylor[/PLAYERCARD] getting the Rising Star over [PLAYERCARD]Marcus Bontempelli[/PLAYERCARD] shows that they should be selecting much more for quality over consistency throughout the year
