Daniel Rich - An Eagles fan.

Well Hurn did finish high in the "Rising Star" award (5th) last season, so I think that , if you don't rate him you are in the minority. He has been injured this year, which has been a blow to both him and the Eagles but he has shown enough in his 30 odd games to suggest that the Eagles made the correct decision in trading to get high enough to pick him. His developement (before injury) was certainly ahead of the other players that the Eagles drafted that year (McKinley, Spangher). Mc Kinley in particular has shown a bit this season while Hurn has been injured, but I expect that Hurn, if fully fit, will come back strong next year.

Basically the way i meant that is that i think there were reason he fell to 13 as he had deficencies. At pick 13 he was the logical selection and probably a good one, but IMO he was never a top 5-6 pick like suggested.

if so, we should get on our horses and start trading some of ours
we once lack proven KP
we now have too many unproven KP
however if essendon does end up chosing rich (which is a 50/50 to me as they need another key def for fletcher/michael) then we should pick the next best, which should be hurley
yarran at 3 seems a little high

I wasn't suggesting we overlook Rich for Hurley, I was saying if you had a KPP and a mid and couldn't seperate them the KPP would be more valuable.

In Essendons case they are lacking young KPP probably more than young mids, where we are the opposite.

We won't know until the names are called out will we.

it looks like he will. Apparently he has fantastic ckills on both feet over long distances. Ooozes class. Just the kind of player we need.

Though good to hear Rich is an Eagle fan, we probably wont get him but never say never, theres some hard games coming up in the 2nd half that will be hard to win. We could actually get him without "tanking", truly shock horror! But I wouldnt hold your breath...

Well based on Essendons performance last night its no certainty that they will finish below us IMO.

We play each other twice and as usual that should be a 1 all draw.

We lose by a few goals today and Freo win we'r back to 15th
