We treated Barrass very well. Could've kept him for less than he was being offered elsewhere, considering our lack of KPD stocks and as close as 30 minutes before the deadline, he said himself he thought he was staying but Hawthorn eventually came to the table.
We let him go for unders for a former club champion, IMO, but did the right thing by him in the end.
Barrass was under paid after an agreement to get more
Eagles didnt honour that and he wanted to leave
You guys wanted 2 x 1st rounders but still got a great deal ( Phil just selected the wrong 1st rounder )
2 situations are extremely comparable and value's should be the same in a trade even though Cameron is a more valuable asset than Barrass and doesnt have back issue's
Pies would be well in their rights to demand the Hawks 1st rounder plus a 2nd

Being 31 and out of contract would be a bigger factor than Barrass having 3 years to run and 2 years younger when traded.
Pies can demand whatever they want, depends on what their own trade and draft strategy is as to what that demand is.
Ask for too much and WCE walk away, which may stuff other trades they are into and Cameron walks for nothing next year anyway.
Or they could jettison some other players currently rumoured to be unhappy with their contracts, bump Cameron and he stays.

Judging off today's game, we should be going for Marshall and not Camern. He's cheaper and already reached Cameron's stats from last night and the game's only halfway through.

Negotiation works with uncontracted players - With contracted player the players club tell you what they want and its upto the eagles to satisfy them.

Look i have a lot to do with Inverloch junior footy where archer came from and while he's a lovely kid i wouldn't call him an outstanding prospect.
As for the rest i agree their rucks are crap but they would be better doing a moneyball trade on a mid 20s ruck who will possibly be there when they play finals again.
Cameron is a complete waste of a 1st round pick given where their list is at.

I actually agree with you regarding the eagles trading for Cameron and think its the wrong move
Will be expensive and the Hawks 1st rounder they hold will be the min pies would take but most likely ask for more
They would be best served going with what they currently have in Flyn & Williams for another year and use that Hawks pick on a player like Emmett in the draft and get Cameron 12 months later as a free agent giving Reid & Emmett 3 years more to develop or find a player like Madden on the cheap

From the games i have watched him play the kid does have talent but not the body or experience
He does remind me alot of a young Darcy Cameron that went undrafted , I liked him in his draft year and was hopefull Richmond would take him when Sydney did. I think Reid best position will be Ruck going foward but what quality he becomes i suppose depends on his talents and development
