I'll say it now - he has been disappointing so far in his 3 games - still early though.
with that said - i believe a major part of the problem is that he is becoming disillusioned with the ruck contest - he's given away 9 free kicks so far this year - the most of any player in the competition (granted most teams still yet to play their third game) - and the vast majority of these have been extremely soft ruck infringements.
Last night was ridiculous - seemed that when he receives contact in the ruck it was given the all clear, but if he reciprocates then it is a free kick against him.
As a result when he is going up for the ruck he seems to be distracted with trying to make sure he gets the contact right (as every ruckman seems to be playing into him)
We should start for the time being using fraser as the 3rd man up - this will prevent their opposition ruckman from trying to man handle jolly as it would just mean an easy tapout for fraser.
apart from that, i have been disappointed with jolly's presence and endeavour. he is a ruckman so nobody is expecting him to run down speedy midfielders, but too many times last night i saw him just lingering while an opponent would be running away/past him. Needs to at least chase to put on the perceived pressure.
Our ruck situation is not working right now and something needs to be done.
