Response to Cricket Australia statement regarding David Warner

Following a statement issued this morning by Cricket Australia, the England and Wales Cricket Board confirms that David Warner initiated an unprovoked physical attack on a member of the England team in a Birmingham bar following England's 48 run victory over Australia. Warner has admitted behaving inappropriately and has since apologized to the player involved who has accepted the apology. Following a full investigation the England team management has concluded that the England player was in no way responsible for nor retaliated to the attack. ECB has concluded that this is a matter for Cricket Australia and have no further comment to make.

I'm so over David Warner.

He's so symptomatic of a stupid, ignorant nation with a palpable sense of self entitlement based on long since passed achievements. (And I'm 29, so I know a fair bit about this generation)

It would be one thing to go out and get on the turps and make a dick of yourself in public. It's another thing to go out, get shit faced and "attack" an opposition player.

Not only should he be sent home and dropped for the Ashes - he should have his contract cut up. Make him start from scratch - and if, as I suspect the petulant prat would do, he tells CA to shove it and chases the T20 coin? Well, that would only confirm every suspicion I have of the kind of person he is.

With all that said, if I've learned anything from Shane Watson, it's that David Warner will be back in for our next game, and will open the batting in the first test of the Ashes.

My tip no. For all the tough talk in all sports rarely do top liners get sacked.

If yes Steve Smith as the replacement with George Bailey and Adam Voges the smokies. Too many openers as it is this would balance it out.

This is the real test of not just Clarke and Arthur but CA also who gave them full backing to turn the culture round with the line in the sand homework thing. For all the sporuting of we are serious in the Australian Cricket Team, we won't tolerate bullshit etc let's see if it was fair dinkum or an excuse in team politics.
