How far is Malik Gordon off your 2023 list, has some pretty exciting attributes i.e. size and explosiveness whether playing forward or midfield.?
i've yet to see the explosiveness from him, i need to see them play a good game or have good attributes, hopefully both, sometimes it takes until i see them at the champs, im yet to see that from him, he is certainly tall so he has size, didnt really do much in the trials game, has had a couple decent NAB League performances, so he is on the radar, but not in the ones to look out for yet.

Cooper Harvey was average to above average in the u17's series last year playing for Vic Metro V Vic Country, he played well for Northern Knights this season, but his best games came when the private school kids left to play APS i think?(i should check), he mustve been injured for over a month because he didnt play in the Vic Metro Trials or the Champs, i can kindve remember about 6-8 games he played in and most he was ok in, only once can i remember him dominating and some people were saying he might be a late 2nd rounder after that game, but i would think thats the top end of his range, if i had to guess from what i know maybe his range is something like 35-rookie?

Sheezel not elite?

im trying to get him to the hawks mate :D

i should put him in elite, i doubt we can get him anyway now, another hawks fan gone in the draft before we can get them :(
mate dont worry, wce cop it everytime we look to get pick 1..2020 our pick 1 became pick 4 due to the suns, this year with Ashcroft we're getting stichted up again

I’m hearing Harley Reid, Nate Caddy, Nick Watson & Nathan Philactides have all been advised that they are not required to play in the u17 game in a couple of weeks.

In fairness, we dodged two bullets in that draft and Gaff's been a better player than Swallow (who we definitely would've taken if we'd had pick 1).

Josh Hamilton has been dominating the NAB league as a bottom ager.
theres 2 Josh Hamiltons, 1 playing for Northern Knights as a draft age player and he has had some big games, then you have Josh Hamilton at Gippsland who is an underager and has a draft aged brother Thomas Hamilton and they look very similar, but yea 2 Josh Hamiltons in the NAB League this year.

Cadman is a top 10 prospect but the the forward I really rate is Jefferson but a key forward seems unlikely for the Lions this year with both Ashcroft and Fletcher rated top 20 picks what does next years draft look like are there any key forwards to watch out for ?

Archer Reid - 201cm KPF from Gippsland - brother of the essendon Reid, had a huge Vic Country Trials game where he dominated, was quiet in the u18 champs in 2-3 games, but another year in the gym and he has the potential to go first round, 11.8 in 9 games, but his Trials form against the best in the NAB League was so strong it gives an indication of what he could be capable of when he fills out.

Jed Walter - 194cm KPF GCS A - linked to Gold Coast, kicked 9 goals in 4 games at the u18's champs and just has a great all round game, likely to go first round

Riley Witherill - 195cm KPF Eastern - has been good in the NAB League this year and showed a bit in the Trials game for Metro, could go late first round if he has a good year, kicked 15.7 in 8 games and 2 goals in the Vic Trials

Xavier Walsh - 193cm KPF/KPD East Perth - was a good defender in the u17 Trials in WA, was one of WA's best as a KPF in the u16's this year playing as an overager, courageous and good in the air, kicked 4 goals in 3 games at the u16's and was a great lead up on the wing/half forw to get i50's, so played both roles as lead up forward and goal threat

then you have 2 players who play KPF but are a little short, it depends if they grow like Cadman did this year in Nate Caddy who is 190or192cm heard conflicting reports and Logan Morris at 192cm, if they grow an inch or 2 they could also develop that game for the next level, Caddy going pretty early and Morris a little later.

thats what i know of so far.

You could potentially add Dan Curtin to the mix aswell, plays best as a defender but can certainly swing forward as he has done at school and colts level.

I don't think any team here would be disappointed or unhappy with their selections. Bulldogs might grab Hayes over Szy though. Hewett at 17 is highway robbery.

Gee Hewett has really fallen off. Would be an absolute steal.
had 1 big game at the champs and 3 quieter average games to average only 19 disposals, he can be a good attacking midfielder, someone earlier this year said he lacks a contested ball winning side to his game, maybe they were right? also he was always considered in the range of 4-15, i think his WAFL Colts GF efforts and his games last year in the u19's series won people over and we hoped to see more of that, but he was kept quiet in a few games this year so probably goes more to the end of his range than early in his range, also Ginbey and Jones upstaged him in his own team at the champs a bit, i still rank him around 10-12 but just for this phantom draft i had him slide a couple of places.

Thanks Davo - how do you rate tsatas compared to Callaghan last year? Expect hawks to finish below dons (but will likely be some strange results in next few weeks as clubs out cue in rack).

similar type of player, Callaghan probably better in traffic as his side steps were terrific, but Tsatas probably wins more of the footy.
