Davo-27 it looks like Jordan Croft (Dogs F/S) was not in the selected Calder team. Do you know if he’s injured or just not in the best team?
He is certainly in their best team, saw him do some marks on the hangar bag in a recent training video so if he is injured he mustn’t be far off.

GWV V Bendigo

players I liked the look of

GWV:
GOOD
Luamon Lual - was fantastic all day, intercept marks, setting up run out of defence, good defensive stops
Mac Scoullar - skilful ruck/kpf with some confidence, kicked 2 great goals and was good in the ruck at times
Rhys Unwin - some moments of brilliance from the outside mid, quick thinking and a turn of speed
Joel Freijah - showed some speed and had a solid game, had a few burst moments in mid/wing
Alex Molan - had a good game in mid doing the tough stuff and providing run
POTENTIAL
Ethan McKercher - kicked 3 with his last being the sealer, work horse small forw
Ollie Hannaford - skilful midfielder with some speed
Jack Ough - played well forward without a goal, took several strong marks, was a Def in u16s and forced forw for GWV
DISAPPOINTING
Felix Fogarty - overager not contributing much, other than structure

Bendigo:
GOOD
Harley Reid - looked great, was a big influence on keeping Bendigo competitive, but was worn out by the last quarter after copping a lot of negative attention from opponents
Tobie Travaglia - he was fantastic down back, skilful, tall, dominant aerially, clever player
POTENTIAL
Poole - had an OK game, went for a few runs, kicked a goal, played hff well
Pearce - was a decent player in defence and mid
Tom Evans - kicked a couple goals and lifted in the last half when they tried to snatch the win

Geelong V Dandenong

players I liked the look of

Geelong:
GOOD
P. Hughes - the best midfielder for Geelong, good run from congestion and doesn't seem phased by the tough stuff
Xavier Ivisic - looked good on a hff, kicked a goal and was classy on the outside
Michael Rudd - kicked 3, couldve been 5 but for a couple of close misses, looks in good form
POTENTIAL
Zac McInnes - kicked a couple goals, was clean around the ground, tap work in Ruck needs improvement, but looks great for next year
Murray - small defender that is used as an outlet from defence, had a decent game
Thomas Anastasopoulos - kicked 3 and was energetic in the forwardline
Reel Page - played as a tall forward and Contested well
Kershaw - provided run and good use of the footy from defence, is still a bit too skinny

Dandenong:
GOOD
Sam Frangalas - was tough in the contest and had good penetration on kicks, tried hard
Harry Demattia - fantastic player, kicked 3 goals, had some good burst through the midfield and looked clean in general play
Harvey Langford - tough, strong mark, uses the ball well, was going strong in 4th quarter so maybe good endurance?
Matthew Nelson - tough, played mostly in the backline with some fantastic moves to find space where there was none
Kobe Shipp - provided a lot of run and usually solid disposal from defence, seemed to get a heap of touches, but not as effective as he would've liked
POTENTIAL
De La Rue - popped up here and there to have an influence, but Geelongs structure and set up really negated Dandenong players influence
Billy Wilson - provided good run and carry from defence
Jack Grant - beautiful long penetrating kicks, kicked a lovely goal on the run, something to work with imo
DISAPPOINTING
Ziggy Toledo - kicked a goal, but the overager barely got involved

Oakleigh V Brisbane A

Players I liked the look of

Oakleigh:
GOOD
Finn O'Sullivan - showing signs of high quality, good mark, beautiful kick, can find space and good run
Will Lorenz - had a tough day not finding much space and playing forward, still looked the goods
Jagga Smith - mixed results, i like his work rate and he loves getting as many touches as possible
POTENTIAL
Kynan Brown - disposal was mixed, but got involved enough to be encouraged
Tom Gross - works hard and does a lot of the tough work in middle and forw, disposal could be improved
LaMotte - kicked 4 goals, played out of the goal square, was a target for a dominant Oakleigh
Kane Emery - tough player, kicked a goal and was handy when play fell apart

Badr, Philactides, Teal, Yze, Askew, Salmon and Hicks all showed glimpses

Brisbane A:
GOOD
Sam Marshall - best quality Brisbane A kid, good inside midfielder, see how he develops
Josh Cooper - strong intercept marking defender
POTENTIAL
Jake Fazldeen - kicked a goal, one of few bris players who were clean with disposal

Its a fair review although it was so one sided that I almost write that game off. Other than the 3rd qtr TBH it was pretty boring to watch, rinse n repeat with the same mids winning the ball and driving it fwd. Nothing new was really learnt.

It was a very messy game, it seemed like Bris A was all about tackling, pressure and closing down the space with very little skill, Oakleigh when given space which wasn't often, just did as they pleased.

Where is Lorenz at his best? Would he start out as a winger then go into the guts later in his career, or start in the guts, or stay more outside?
Midfield or wing, he was playing 50/50 forw and mid, it seemed like, unless you have a natural talent as a forward, some mids can get lost in the forward line, but coaches think every player is Dusty Martin.......

Gippsland V Murray

Players I liked the look of

Gippsland:
GOOD
Ryan Maric - kicked 4 goals and had a fantastic game dominating the aerial contests a chf
Archer Reid - kicked 3 goals, good in the air, but also competed on the ground well with good kicks around the ground and leading up to the wings at times
POTENTIAL
Max Stobie - got a lot of ball off hbf with mixed results, strong in the contest
Zane Duursma - playing mostly midfield, he didn't look as dangerous as when he plays forward, great accuracy kicking at goal, but average disposal in general play
Seb Amoroso - played well in midfield, giving run and winning contests
Asher Eatham - kicked a couple of goals
Max Donohue - looked solid in midfield

Murray:
GOOD
Darcy Wilson - the first time in about 4 games I have seen why some rate him, kicked 3 goals and generally played well
Coby James - gave Murray a lot of run and carry and usually hit a target with poss, which is what I look for
POTENTIAL
Phoenix Gothard - was lively up forward
Oliver Warburton - was one of the better mids in quality of play, although not sure he got a heap of it?

Calder V GCS A

players I liked the look of

Calder:
GOOD (no real standouts, but some good performances)
Mahmoud Taha - looks like he is in good condition
Naim - good leading to the ball, was a handy target at chf

Isaac Kako - speedy small forw, took a big pack mark on the goal line, kicked 2 goals
POTENTIAL
Jayden Nguyen - had a good day on the wing
Rye Penny - some good burst runs through the middle, ran from a centre bounce to kick his lone goal
Ryan Eyre - skilful player, good kick, good height, played most def/mid
Thomas Legudi - another player who played well on the wing/flanks

Mueller, Willmore and Clough also showing something

GCS A:
GOOD
Zeke Uwland - fantastic little prospect, winning contest, smart delivery, really strong performance
Jake Rogers - he and Uwland were the standouts from the non kpp for GCS A
Ethan Read - was strong in the ruck and in the first half
Jed Walter - kicked 2 goals in a low scoring game, not only a big target, but can win it up the ground and at his feet
POTENTIAL

Curious. What was it that you liked about R. Maclean's game? As far as the stats go he was very quiet. But that does not mean it wasn't a solid game.

He was fantastic against Sandringham, star tall defender in round 1 imo, #55 was good, just had a quick look and he moved better than #59 and seemed more athletic, but 59 stood sideways of his team to get easy chip kicks, whereas from my PoV Maclean seems more dynamic of a prospect.

I edited my post above, just quickly clicked through the game, seemed like 59 was more a side kick option in defence so got used more on the transition, but I liked MacLeans game as a tall defender and they usually don't rack up the stats, he seemed more athletically gifted, he stuck tight to his man, whereas I noticed 59 was more loose checking, Maclean had a nice intercept mark at 2:30 in the 2nd quarter and was more involved in the contest from my quick look back.

Davo-27 can you please tell me more about Croft and where you’re projecting he might attract a bid? I think he got the 1 goal from a free kick right at the end but interested if he was staying deep or working up the ground, ability to impact when the ball hit the deck, etc. (or whatever else you noticed)
