Just interested re: what pies think greenwood is worth compared to beams value. Dont get me wrong beams is far far far better but i just wanted to know if a player states his preference what the supporters think the clubs strategy for getting it done is..

Apologies if ruffled feathers, just slow trade day i guess.

Pick 20 to 30.

Similar to Luke Ball, except Luke Ball had more consistent seasons, had been a Captain and had played in Premierships and was originally a much much higher draft pick...

This, along with the fact the Bulldog's don't need someone like Greenwood desperately, is why I don't believe they ever seriously offered two mid-20s picks.

I think that is the most likely scenario ot, and if Beams won't accept a trade to GC then his wanting to be with his sick father excuse falls flat on its face and shows him up to be a lying self absorbed little pr1ck.
I think we can all agree that he is a lying self absorbed little prick. His manager coming out and saying Brisbane or bust proved that.
I have slowly developed a hatred for this flog. The club has not treated him badly, has looked after him when he got himself into trouble and has spent time and resources developing him.
I am OK with him wanting to leave, but the manner in which he is going about it is mind boggling. He has shown zero respect or consideration towards the club.
Bigger flog than Daisy in my opinion.

If he winds up staying with the club he may be about $400k worse off due to the difference in reported contract values.

Beams may need to compromise on his destination to get a deal done.
If he stays at the club he either pulls his head in or pays the consequences - end of story.

He's shown his true colours and will leave at the end of next year anyway, robbing us of proper compensation so as far as I'm concerned if he stays he provides value or he can rot in the reserves or be the bloody orange boy for all I care.

Haha 'ruffled feathers' I see what you did there.

On a serious note, I don't have a clue what Greenwood is worth. I didn't watch North much because I can't stand their sook of a coach. All I know is that the Pies will look to do the deal separately and not include Brisbane. Even moreso since Swann opened up his gob and spoke of it as an option. He and the rest of em can get ****ed IMO,which means stuff all.

So I think I've discovered Beams' true motives for leaving.

You see, it was only a few months ago we were faced with the dilemma: if Darcy Moore was going to be our first draft pick, by our current club rules he'd have to wear #35 for his first year, which was absolutely unthinkable for many supporters. Beams then understanding this truly awful scenario, has taken it upon himself to leave the club, knowing full well that we'd likely get a pick before Darcy's for the upcoming draft, meaning that he will be able to instantly slot into #30. Clearly he is a truly selfless man.

Brisbane supporters can hope Beams stays next year and returns but the far bigger elephant in the room is James Aish.
He won't be at Brisbane post 2015.

Uncontracted players merit compensation in trades all the time so I'm not too worried about next year. A big offer from left field is quite possible.

If I were the Lions or Beams I'd want to get this deal done this year. I can see no real advantage in leaving it in abeyance for 12 months.

Na, Beams is a bigger Elephant than Aish.

On the topic of young Brisbane players re-signing though, the Brions tweeted earlier that a young Brion's re-signing would be announced soon... I think they were trying to make people think it would be Aish... It was McStay though, guess he moves in to the untouchable 28 if he wasn't already.

another easier solution is just to say that Moore is not an actual pick and sill give him 30, he has bypassed the draft afterall. Our 2nd rounder 27, is our first live pick so he gets no. 35. Although the way this draft is looking by the time we have traded and exchanged picks and players our first live pick could be anything from 5 to 55.

OK, Beams was happy at Collingwood until the Bears offered him massive dollars, or not happy and contracts mean shit.

Aish was never happy in Brisbane and wants out. Let the guy live his dream and let him go, then everyone can get on with the rest of trade-week.

But I bet the Bears camp are the biggest bunch of campaigners to Aish that they won't let him get back to his family and live his dream of playing at the Adelaide Oval.

This will be the deal. It will be Aish to Adelaide, picks 5 and 10 and a fringe player from Adelaide to Collingwood.

That's what it will be...

Ideally it would be Aish to Collingwood but it will be a three way trade.

TBH both clubs have negotiated themselves into corners by saying publicly what they are and are not willing to accept, if they back down now one of the recruiters will lose face.....

What happened to the Gleeson article you said was going to reveal the three way trade including Aish to the Crows?

Unless he's coming to us that is totally irrelevant to the Beams trade

Another Brisbane untouchable
