It is more the absolute garbage writing they employed to make them seem tough and dangerous that blew big time.

Just because it’s an all female cast, doesn’t always mean they’re trying to be woke, and alienate men solely for female empowerment.
BOP and also WW don’t enforce that. They’re just female characters who coincidentally have a story to tell.
Meanwhile you have Disney/Marvel who do exactly that in Captain Marvel and Avengers End Game.

To quote Australia toughest and most dangerous woman, "Please explain?"It is more the absolute garbage writing they employed to make them seem tough and dangerous that blew big time.

I mean this sincerely, but care to expand?
Based on my view, I can't agree, and without using spoilers, I didn't think them being portayed as tough was the case either.
I liked that scene. It wouldn’t happen in real life, but then a guy flying high in the sky in a cape and with his underpants outside his tights wouldn’t either. The whole walking through the Cop station scene for one. Utter dross.

Each to their own.
Haven't read the Harley Quinn comics or seen any of the Batman: The Animated Series cartoons?Superman has powers in that world.
Harley Quinn has nothing. Zero intimidation factor and yet, supposed to be so intimidating gun wielding cops just run away before her. Dross writing.

What you said isn't entirely true. According to the DC database after taking Poison Ivy's potion (she was given the potion in the Batman: The Animated Series episode Harley and Ivy IIRC) her strength, speed, agility, and durability was boosted to insane levels. She also doesn't need to breathe underwater. Harley is immune to toxins, almost all diseases, and even Joker's venom and gained a healing factor, which allows her to almost instantly heal from damage such as bullet wounds.
She is a psychiatrist so she is reasonable intelligent and she was a gymnast so the kicks and somersaults are possible.
Also, she is mentally unstable, so she would be stupid enough to try and breaking into a Cop Shop.
Why would the "movie" Harley not be based on the comic book Harley? Margot has always stated the Harley Quinn we see on the screen is heavily based on the Harley she has read in the Comic books. Also her backstory is partially explained at the start of film, in animated form. That's not the movie Harley though. She's just some clingy nutter in the Movies.
You've really just proven again how poorly written it is. Zero backstory, not even a tiny bit of reasoning as to why we're supposed to believe she can do what she does.
You learn more about Huntress and her skillset and motivations in the short time she's on screen than you do in a whole Harley Quinn movie.

And as for it being poorly written, I actually think the script is pretty good, it's not perfect, but if you know anything about Harley then the script and the direction Harley is taking after her break up with the Joker is understandable and enjoyable.
In fact you don't need to know a great deal about Harley to enjoy the film, you just have to know that what you are seeing is from Harley's point of view which is why it's a little scatterbrained and jumps ahead at times.
TBH I did enjoy Gotham through her eyes being a lot more colourful place as opposed to through the eyes of a Nolan Batman where it is very dark and grim. Amusement Mile was fun as well, really reminded me of the animated series. Why would the "movie" Harley not be based on the comic book Harley? Do you watch other Comic book adaptations?Well apparently you do if you don't want to be sitting there thinking WTF all the time.
Do you watch other Comic book adaptations?
No, I was interested to know if you were a fan of the genre.Nope. If I'm required to watch them so that I'm in the know then the movie is a fail.

So you have never seen Iron Man, Superman, Batman, The Fantastic Four, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Deadpool, Suicide Squad or any other Superhero film that has been released over the last 55/60 years? WOW!
This film was never going to be a Harley Quinn's origin story, that was told (poorly I have to say) in Suicide Squad. In fact, I was go so far as to say the Harley Quinn Origin story hasn't been told on film yet. It has only appeared in the Comics, a novel and an Animated Series. This film is the origin story of the Birds of Prey told through Harley Quinn.I've seen all of them. I'm a Marvel kid.
This is DC however and Harley Quinn is a side character. Not even one of the superheroes.
So not providing a decent origin story of the character is a fail in my books. Probably one of the reasons why it's tanking so hard at the box office.
