Basically, if you see anything from cosmicbook news, just ignore it and keep scrolling, nothing but clickbait to try and lure the hardcore Snyder fans into engaging with their content.
Yeah, I'm getting that impression. But just remember, when I first posted that I said, "IF that's true..." I never said it was true or false. I was just posting something I thought was interesting. Paramount is after WBD, but the latest is that WBD rejected their first offer.

But other news media are running with the story, even though I've never heard of this site.

So, I guess we'll have to see what happens. But I'm not saying that any of this is true, as I don't know. I do find it amusing that the man who was brought in to save DC and was promoted as the messiah is now being said to be facing the sack.

I think you are using the term "news media" lightly here. They are just internet commentators with no real journalistic ability.

I can't see them making any big moves while in negotiation. In fact, it makes more sense for the new owners to make changes as they will have the leeway for a few swings.

On what metric is Peacemaker season 2 a “flop” I wonder.

I’ve never heard of that site and wouldn’t be at all surprised if there’s that typical vocal Snyder bro stuff underpinning it all.

The DC fanbase has become as toxic as the Star Wars one IMHO, with people poised at their computers ready to shitcan anything that comes out. The Snydernerds versus The Gunn Slingers. It's so funny to watch. Personally, I don't give a flying F what happens behind the scenes. Just makes us something we can watch, FFS. Such a great roster of supes all being wasted in this endless politics.

The only Metric I know is the Nielson Streaming Charts. I havent followed it at all but if its hasnt hit the top 10 these shows will get called flops ie Daredevil Born Again. I know these charts are usually weeks behind probably due the platforms making up the numbers lol.
You need to be a data analyst to decipher these things, the way the report them.

Thanks for that, yes it’s confusing to me as well. Depending what angle one if coming from or what their definition of a flop is, you can cite whatever you like to support it either way. From a cursory glance at season 2’s reception, it’s 96% on RT and 79% audience score, IMDB has it as 7/10 for season 2 compared to 9/10 for season 1. Not sure those, along with Superman’s box office, are flop worthy numbers.

I enjoyed it, and that’s the main metric for me really.

Honestly season 2 was a let down for me. I honestly dont care that Superman didnt appear and I understand at the end the plot was basically Chris needs to stop hating himself but I feel like nothing significant happened. I feel like Gunn is partially responsible for this because he said ep 8 will show us where the DCU is going. Im honestly clueless as to what I am to expect going forward story wise. Everything that happened here can completely be ignored and he has since said to not expect season 3.

Im not anti Gunn and in good faith I hope it succeeds but he needs to stop making promises as it feels a bit like Wandavision again.

Also i think he needs to lay off the needle drops, but thats probably just because I havent like his song choices lately lol. He definitely needs to focus on score in Man of Tommorow, but knowing him he will try to find his version of Punkrocker again for that movie. I didnt hate that by the way.

This season had H.E.A.T ( my fave band) Nelson, Still pretending, and Steel Panther... I loved the music choices lol

Yep that’s fair enough, it didn’t hit the heights of season 1 for me. The finale was a bit hit and miss for many as well. I think he hasn’t quite figured out yet how to explain what is canon and what isn’t to the general public, which is where that sweet sweet spot in terms of money is. Even when I try and explain it to friends and family, I can see they’ve lost me half way haha.

Man Of Tomorrow, especially if drawing upon the team up element between him and Lex against hopefully Brainiac (surely it’s time for Brainiac now), I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do with that.

Honestly Im glad it worked for you and I have fallen way off when it comes to music these days, but having the cameos be full performances of the 2 titles songs did not work for me. My preference for the theme music is more for the big movie experience especially when it comes to Superhero movies.

Im all in for Brainiac and Man of Tomorrow. I think its basically what everyone wants. People might hate this idea but he could easily cast Bradley Cooper as Brainiac to retcon the message in Superman, but he said he wont be doing any retcon.
It also very timely in our current times with the rise of AI content getting better and better.

I wasn’t a fan of that twist in the message, however it’s here to stay from how unequivocal Gunn has been about it since. It is what it is. Cooper I imagine could be in a flashback perhaps if he’s met Brainiac before. Ot even a scenario such as what if Brainiac has captured them in Kandor, prior to Krypton’s demise.

I think season 2 had some good parts, and I have commented on those in the Peacemaker thread, but overall it was mediocre. I agree with others. Season 1 was kickass. Season 2 was meh. Part of the problem, too, was Gunn promising us so much and hyping it up, and then it was this...

Oh well, onto the next thing.

Bit off topic to film/tv but has anyone read the Absolute series? Character designs look phenomenal

Almost anything and everything Batman related I have read. You’ve reminded me that I need to check out the other ones in the Absolute theme, however speaking about the Batman one alone I highly recommend.

I’m a fan of Scott Snyder’s work regardless and the concept of this had me intrigued from the start. Bruce Wayne not a billionaire, limited resources, post apocalyptic Gotham setting and a new take on his suit and weapons. Worth checking out IMO, I quite enjoyed it.

Saw that there was an interesting Scarecrow Absolute too so it's great to see its not just the typical main DC heroes getting their story. Scott's drawings definitely resonate with me. Feels like I've uncovered a gold mine of things.

He’s been consistently good from his New 52 run to now, has an excellent creative mind for this type of thing. I enjoy his work. I need to check out the rest of the Absolute universe soon. In the meantime this was a very good interview from last year regarding the concept for this Batman incase you haven’t come across it:
