tunbridge is an inside mid? thats a new one. well if he is and based on his posession rate in wafl, he wont make it. mids who cant find it in wafl cant find it in afl. and dont give me this whole he played well on weekend rubbish. inside mid? actually i dont even think you know what attributes you need to be an inside mid. did you ask yourself does tunbridge have great hands for example? hell of a lot more important than being pacey. or do you just want players who are more pleasing to the eye?

Tunbridge isn't an inside midfielder, he's a utility. However he's started rotating through the middle for Perth over the last two rounds. His disposal count is fine considering he's been playing forward historically, his goal count is even better. He's one of the most ambidextrous players at the club and he's a left footer, in round seven in the WAFL he had 14 disposals and he was far more damaging than Wellingham who had 28. As far has hands go he's no worse than Shuey, Scooter and Gaff, it's not a strength of his but it doesn't rule him out from playing through the middle.

He's 190cm, 90kg has superb foot skills, attacks the ball hard, is strong overhead, has solid pace and he's a known goal kicker. Another preseason and his endurance will improve further, who knows what he'll be capable of.

i am not convinced mcgovern can make it. or maybe he is a Joe Daniher like superstar we are keeping in wafl, just because we can. more than likely he is closer to Maister than anything. perhaps we should give him a game in afl. apparently (according to some posters), being shithouse in wafl shouldnt stop you from deserving an afl game.

I'm McGovern's biggest fan and advocate on this forum and i'm hardly convinced he'll be anything at the next level. But if you're comparing Maister and McGovern on attributes then they are nothing alike, only similarities is they are KPP from Claremont.

You know why i like these two? Because they have elite attributes, as an Eagles fan you should want guys who with the greatest potential to reach that potential. Rather than being stuck with perpetual toilers.

Looks a little more vanilla a level up. Kicking isn't the best as far as depth goes, doesn't have the size advantage he's used to, pace is also questionable. Has great hands though.

Another recruiting stuff up? I've never seen him play so I can't comment, but he shouldn't have been our first draft pick if he didn't have something.

Tunbridge is starting to show the attributes of what made him a pre-pick by GWS. As I alluded to earlier, he's just starting to become comfortable in his body and what he brings to a game.

Gallileo9 - he actually does have good hands and his pace is very good for a 6"4' 95kg kid - you have to remember he is only a kid as he's just turned 20. What he does have that IMO will make him a potential IM rotation, is his vision and execution under pressure - both are really good. Sure he's learning and has a way to go, but there is something there to work with. As you mentioned Dajesmac - he's really nice off the left wing and WC could sure do with a good size mid with foot skills.

A Hams delist would be a good pick up for Melbourne capable of getting a couple of goals a game
M Nicoski I would keep him he's almost another development coach he is so good with the younger players,
but maybe delisted, if over injuries, he is still incredibly fit and would offer goal scoring power to other clubs.

2) Too early for this call on Colledge
3) Believe Butler has another year as back-up
4) Watched Nicoski on w/end and although didn't really do a lot, he showed good toe. I think he'll get another year.
5) Why would you want to elevate Sinclair or Bennell when you can leave them for another year on rookie list ? I understand the rules re rookie list but think McGovern will be offered another year in the rookie's - usually clubs steer clear of other club's rookies. the rest of the year will tell for him
6) I think Embley, Hams and Selwood offer very little going forward. Brown likely to depart - depending on Glass's decision - and I would trade Smith and likely delist Dick. That's 6 changes - more than enough and you don't really want 3 rookie picks (that's being too involved in the blunt end of the draft)

I'm McGovern's biggest fan and advocate on this forum and i'm hardly convinced he'll be anything at the next level. But if you're comparing Maister and McGovern on attributes then they are nothing alike, only similarities is they are KPP from Claremont.

I also really like McGovern. I don't think anyone is really suggesting he's going to be a superstar, but I think he could be a worthwhile contributor alongside Darling and Kennedy. He could be useful in taking pressure off Darling and absorbing some height.

On the topic of delistings, I am for increasing our intake but I'd be wary of delisting too many. We will also need to delist next year and we don't want a bunch of rookies on 2 year contracts and us needing to cut into more required players.

Hard to see Selwood, Embley and Dalziell getting new contracts
Nicoski will have to show some signs that his body will be right for another season which must be considered doubtful
Glass and Cox will be up to them if they want to go another year - I thought this would be Glass' last season but his form has been pretty good and his change of role means he could go another year. I'd want Cox to go on for at least next year
Brown is a good chance to request a trade especially if Glass decides to stay on
I'd hope Wilson gets a new contract based on what he has shown
LeCras could be lost via free agency although I assume the club is in negotiations for an extension

Players must be loving the threat of free agency. Four years (after this year!) is a long contract extension for a player who just spent a year out of the game with a knee reco.

Is this the club thinking they could lose players for nothing if they don't sign them for long contracts? Don't know if I am a fan of contracts longer than three years, anything could happen in that sort of time frame!
