Hopefully Carlos was not listening to Dermie on SEN tonight or he would have to kick Fev up the arse too. Dermie was determined to make the following point - to the extent that he would not let Francis move on to the next game until he had

He said it was inexcusable what Fev did to Carlos - he said that if Jason D had ever done that to him he would have 'grabbed him by the lapels' after the game and it would have been on if there had not been an apology coming

It was a shocking thing to do for as Dermie pointed out, not only was it easily prevented (and actually Fev's role was to stop a Bomber from doing it to Carlos) but also highly detrimental to what teams are on about ie You want to see a guy having the courage to back back like Carlos did w/o concern for his welfare - to have a team-mate do that to you is reprehensible

ps Definitely made more sense than his suggestion that we and Sydney could swap FFs

You should've heard what else Dermie said this afternoon on SEN.

He said that Carlton and Sydney now have a real opportunity to resurrect the careers of Brendan Fevola and Barry Hall by doing a straight swap.

He was deadly serious too!

Moron!

Setanta showed the kids his bruised back today at the clinic - fair dinkum he has this ugly black and purple bruise over most of his lower back.

It must have been agony.

(posted this earlier on the Irish thread)

Probably on the ground but not when flying. I saw Fev coming and thought "Oh shit" - he just had to hold back the pack for Carlos :thumbsd:

Fev probably thought that Irish would get out of the way... and just flew anyway...

Bit selfish on the part of Fev I think...

I think I also heard on the radio over the weekend that Kouta was absolutely scathing on what Fevola did to Irish (and even more scathing off-air !!).

Can confirm that, AL.

If fev doesn't realise anyone aside from him matters in the world in general life, how the hell is he supposed to realise that anybody else matters on the footy field ?

I think big Setanta's been fantastic the last 3 games.

Yep, Kouta was very angry at the time

He was a bit calmer during the regular CBD catchup meeting where we run through the weekend's game, but still quite disappointed in Fev

Credit to anyone willing to poke fun at themselves. Well done. :thumbsu:

Fev's got history here too.

Brad Fisher has had a broken shoulder blade a couple of years back courtesy of Fev smashing into him......I'v got a feeling he did it to Fisher again last year as well.

Fev doesn't share his forward line. Setanta had his man beaten and was going to take an easy mark. Fev would have seen this clearly, and still choose to be the hero.

Sadly, Fev cost us two productive forwards on the night. Himself due to his own mental issues, and Setanta who was shaping as a real headache for the Dons, and was ineefectual after the incident.

Selection this week will be interesting. Does Ratts have the balls to drop Fev?

I highly doubt it.

The coach has to be able to scare the sh!t out of the players at times, Ratts appears to relaxed and layed back in personality to give a mass spray and have everyone jump into line.

Even if he does drop fev the players will just think he's trying to be tough and reacting to media

At least Barry would scare the shit out of those cocky little pricks from Windy Hill. Maybe a swap involving RoK and draft picks would be more realistic given Hall's got one foot in the ring already. ;)

Not trolling but I don't know many player's whose role it is to drop back into the space the FF is leading to. Maybe being harsh on Fev for that. It's like criticising someone for taking a leap onto a teammates shoulders which has happened in a number of our great marks.

I think Setanta should not have been there but seeing he was Fev should probably have called him out or created a block but because he didn't doesn't make him selfish - not even he would want to hurt teammates. Irish on the other hand...

Good luck this weekend.

.....

You have never played football right.
Taking a speccy on someon's shoulders is totally different from taking out their kidneys

Fev has no idea if his opponent is going to come over the top of him but if he holds his opponent back then Carlos has a free shot - called Team football
